A Little Cream Jug Comes Home

When we went back to number 9 to do the cleaning we happened to pop into our favourite charity shop (Emmaus - as mentioned HERE ) where they also do coffee and toasted teacake for £1.75 per person.
I'm afraid I couldn't resist this little cream (Mason's) jug to add to my collection and these HOME cubes had to come with me too.
The hyacinths were growing right underneath a shrub in the garden - completely hidden, so I cut them and popped them in the bottle from the last Emmaus visit.
Eventually I hope to get a new bigger, proper dresser with room to display some of my jugs, most are still in a box along with all my vases........waiting.

Thank you for all the comments about footpaths and woodland, and for reassurance that footpaths are not always a problem, personally I'd rather have a footpath up the lane than a motorway!

  1. Some years ago, I was gifted a 'Home' set of four blocks, and I loved how they affirmed what I already knew but made it 'more so'. My garden hyacinths (well the last few years indoor ones now planted out) are yet to flower, here's hoping!

  2. That's why I love charity shops you can afford to add new things to your home, I swap things around, display for a while then back in the cupboard for something else.

  3. I would have struggled to leave that sweet jug behind too ~ going against my resolve to slowly reduce the contents of my cottage!

  5. Years ago I thinned out my collection of jugs, luckily they seem to quietly breed because the shelf and hooks are full again. There is no way I would have left that jug behind, either.

  9. What a gorgeous little jug. I love your display with the hyacinths. The charity shop sounds like a good one especially when there's toasted teacakes and coffee to be had. X

  10. Those types of little white jugs are so popular over here in the States at the moment. It's in the farmhouse style. Lovely, as are the hyacinths. Your charity shop sounds like a wonderful place. Happy decorating!

  11. I love mini jugs, not sure why but I usually find mine at car boots. First one of the year on Sunday, just hoping the weather holds.

  13. A lovely little cameo there, with the jug, the flowers, the bottle and the 'HOME' blocks. I always have problems leaving a pretty jug behind and I seem to have quite a collection now . . how did that happen? x

  14. I have been a silly goose, checking the old blog for updates and not realizing you had started a new blog for the new home! But, I have read all the previous posts and caught up and though I am late to welcome you to your new home, I wish you all the best as you move forward. I am hopeful that Colin's health with continue to improve and may be continue to feel well. Love the idea of the birthday woodland!

  15. It's always nice to add a little something new to a "new" home. Do you like the house? I know you're waiting on your cooker, but overall are you feeling more comfortable there than in town?

    1. Yes we love it, even though we are rushing to get things done while Colin is well enough.

  18. What a lovely photo that makes. With the sunlight and the lovely flowers, etc.

We still have snow cover over here. No flowers peeking up.
