February's Library Books

These are the books I collected from the Mobile Library yesterday.

                               (Whoops, I seem to be slightly on the huh with this photo)

Not many books this month and heavy on crime. No matter, still plenty to read on my own shelves.

The two that are not crime are light fluffy fiction by Erica James and The Adrian Bell book which was featured for it's jacket illustration in the book on this subject that I wrote about earlier this month.
I'm pleased that the library service have got round to stocking more of the British Library Crime Classics, they hadn't got these a few months ago when I looked. Hope the book about Jack the Ripper by Gyles Brandreth is as good as the series of crime featuring Oscar Wilde that he wrote a while back.
Should be a few more to pick up next month.

    A good stack there to enjoy. Gyles Brandreth is always such a good writer about so many things. :)

    I hadn't appreciated Gyles Brandreth had written books. He's such an interesting man I think I shall have to go and look these up.

      I think there are 5 or 6 in the series of crime he wrote featuring Oscar Wilde and his friends.They were really good I thought. Plus he's done several about the Royals - which are not my sort of reading!

      Yes, her books and Katie FFordes are almost the only light fiction I read

    A good choice there. Enjoy the Adrian Bell. I have a couple of his books I bought many many years ago.

      Yes we've got or had several of his other more well known books and I've read a couple but hadn't heard of this one until I saw it in the book of Jacket illustrations

    A good selection of books.

    Do you ever wonder what the librarians read into our choice of books, I do ... from these I would say you are planning to commit the perfect murder, bury the body in a local field and then sit with your feet up and read your Erica James with a nice cup of coffee 😉

    I like Erica James. They are a nice read most of the time. I love reading but nothing heavy right now. I just want an escape lol. I am avoiding going to the library as my goal is to get through some of the books in the house. That won't happen if I go to the library lol - they have a really cheap bookshop on the bottom floor!

    Just finished the Erica James book, which I bought while in the U.K. at Christmas....enjoyed it. Unfortunately, if I don't buy them, they don't reach our libraries here for several years, if EVER.....

      That's the problem with reading British blogs!!lol I see all these great authors and then I can't get their books here. Not that I am short of books. I've got LOTS to last me the rest of my life, and then some!!!!

    A nice selection there. You're lucky to get the new Erica James book. I've had to go on a waiting list at my library,I'm number 16! Hope it's worth the wait (she is very good though)
