A New Cheese to Try

 I found this interesting cheese in Debenham Co-op. Never seen this company before but the co-op had about a dozen different cheeses from them [not all those pictured below]


It's been a while since I tried a new cheese, this looked the most unusual . What I failed to remember was that hops are in beer to make it bitter! Nuff said. I ate it so it wasn't wasted and it had a good creamy texture  but won't be trying again.

Although I'd not have the Worcestershire Hop cheese again I'm willing to try another from this company.

Which one ?...............maybe Not the Charcoal!

  2. Wouldn't recommend charcoal cheese crackers either! (They came in a box of mixed cheese biscuits) There are some tempting cheeses in the pictures...

  4. I like Hereford Hop. That is delicious and not a Cheddar as such, if I remember rightly. I don't mind the hop flavour. Some intreresting cheeses in your pictures. What will you try next? I wonder if the Whittington Oak is connected to Whittington Castle (though that's Shropshire and not Worcs). I still think Cornish Yarg is one of my most favourite cheeses.

  5. Well done for eating it up!
    I'm not a fan of cheeses with things added, they rarely live up to expectations and it drives me nuts sometimes when I'm trying to find a slightly different cheese like Cheshire or Lancashire and all I can find is one with added bits.

  6. In Indonesia, cheddar is the most common cheese. It is widely available, affordable, and used in many popular foods such as martabak, kastengel, bread, and cakes.

  7. Lots of these sound great, particularly the one with bramble. However, I suspect none of them will make their way to our local shops!
    You (well, I think it was you!) recommended Red Fox last year and it’s become one of my favourite and regularly bought cheeses.

    1. I've not seen Red Fox in Aldi lately - probably forgotten to look! This one was my 18th taste test - according to labels still 100s to try!

  8. The bramble or the fig would probably be the ones I would try first, but then I enjoy a fruity cheese. Interesting company.

  10. A lot of these sound really interesting. We have a new cheese shop in town that does a very nice job of it. I'll have to see if they have this company's cheeses -- I know they do have Brit ones. I had one called "Builders" from Devon the other day. It was fabulous -- sharp cheddar.

  11. I think Id like most but agree, probably not the hops or the worstershire one. I love fruit with cheese, so those all sounded delicious.

  13. So many cheeses there for you to try. I tried a non-dairy charcoal cheese and it was delicious, but I guess that's not much of a comparison is it. :-)

  14. I'd love to try a few of these cheeses too.
    The mustard one sounds interesting to me. A slice on a burger with red onion, lettuce and tomato would be lovely.

  17. We had the Talisman as part of a selection box from Waitrose (marked down and another 20% off on cheese counter Thursday). We thought it was delicious. Unfortunately they don't sell it on its own and we haven't seen it anywhere else. As an aside, we went to Croome Estate on holiday a couple of years ago. It’s a pleasant NT place with an unrestored, largely empty house and a small plane museum alongside.
    I'll have a look in our Coop for the cheese but suspect we don't get it in Cornwall.

  18. I would definitely like to try several of these. What weight are they? Three pounds seems like a very reasonable price. My favourite cheese treat is $10 for 200 grams.
