I sometimes spend £1 on myself when I go for the weekly big shop, this week it was on a bar of Pears soap, I love soap. <br />Recently I went into a certain high street store beginning with P. that everyone seems to rave over, had a quick look round then thought I will stick with my good old charity shop buys. Something some of our readers don't seem to grasp is that although, yes, I splurged for one week ... virtually everything I bought was either needed for immediate use in my new life or will be used as soon as what they are replacing runs out.<br /><br />The only thing that was a bad buy was the pack of 30 pencils from Poundland, I've sharpened one half away just to get a point on it ... bad investment. For decades my books were stored on any thrift store shelf I could find. Finally got the courage to go to Ikea and buy a whole wall of matching bookcases for my study. Really traumatic to spend that much all in one shot, but I love seeing at least some of my books properly stored.
