We often see hares passing through the garden but rarely do I see one sitting still AND, even better, I had the camera to hand without having to walk past the window to get it.
He/she was busy having a wash and brush up
They aren't as clear and sharp as they ought to be, because the inside of the kitchen window needs cleaning................ I keep putting it off as it's a very deep window sill and cleaning the window involves climbing onto the sink unit!
Must do it today.
Back Tomorrow
Sue
Wow - how fortunate is that! They can be so hard to catch and snap. Lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteJ x
So lucky to get a close up photo like that!..Oh,and the windows look fine to me....sit in the sun and leave them for another day!xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a privilege to see a hare so close up and so still.
ReplyDeleteMoments like that are such an encouragement especially when you have a chance to capture them.
We have a heron that appears regularly and my OH spends ages stalking it camera in hand.
Just as he's in position, with a lazy flap of its wings, the heron moves.
He then feels guilty because he's disturbed it! Sue
We have hares living all around the farm house in the hedgerows but they never come into the garden. We do have night time visitors as we can see how they come under the fence but not sure what they are that are visiting hopefully hedgehogs.

How lovely to see and capture on camera. Was this on zoom?
ReplyDeleteYes, zooming in - it was sitting about 15 metres away from the kitchen - roughly
DeleteLove to see hares dashing around the fields.
ReplyDeleteI like the one where she is staring straight back at the camera. It looks so distinctively like a hare which of course it is.
ReplyDeleteI always gorget how big hares are. You did really well to manage so many photos without spooking the hare.
ReplyDeleteVery fortuitous. I used to see hares regularly when I lived in the Salisbury area. We used to see them in the Park field when we first moved here, just up the lane, but sadly they must all be gone now. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteExcellent photos, we don't have any close to home, we tend to spot them out walking so they are often across the fields and a bit far for a good image
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing set of photos. love this so much!
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos. How fortunate that you had your camera to hand.
ReplyDeleteYou can see just how powerful those rear muscles are, beautiful animals.
ReplyDeleteThe best photos! How wonderful. Love hares, usually I only see them bounding across a field. After you have cleaned your windows can you pop up to Norfolk and do mine!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a hare for ages. Rabbits here but soon the myxomatosis will hit
ReplyDeleteThe farmland of East Anglia is good hare territory John.
DeleteAren't they fun to see? Caught one hopping away the other day but no camera handy. There was actually a turkey in the garden last week but I was still unsteady on my feet and the photo came out too blurry. Never a camera when you need one!
ReplyDeleteFor more than six months, I had a rabbit (or as I call it, "bunny") stop by my patio every evening. Yes, I left food for it. Once in awhile there would be two bunnies and I got a photo of them "kissing" or at least it looked like that. I love the wildlife.
ReplyDeleteA real beauty! There are hares around here but I never see one as close as that.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Lovely to see and how lucky to have a camera to hand.
ReplyDeleteThat hare looks huge! We have a squirrel that keeps coming into the garden. I'm not keen on them and it's not helping itself as it keeps digging in one of my pots. Hope you and Col had a lovely Bank Holiday. xx
ReplyDeleteA wonderful gift from Nature! I bet your heart was beating fast with delight.
ReplyDeleteps I meant to say before, well done on those viewing figures and followers!
DeleteSuch a fine looking animal.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, can I do a painting from one? We have lots of hares round us. I only see them when they are miles away!
ReplyDeletePaint as many as you like!
DeleteI was astonished to see this sitting still beside the drive, and thought it would go when I went passed the window to get my camera then realised the camera was right behind me on the kitchen worktop...Lucky.
Thank you for those Sue. My all time favourite animal and such a set of fine pictures.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pat and everyone
DeleteI could have had a brilliant shot if I'd been a bit quicker. I came back from the polytunnel to find one of the chickens sat on the Aga. Luckily the mats were on the lids. But she saw me coming in and flew down. Talk about 'oven ready chicken'!!
ReplyDeleteHope she didn't leave anything behind!
DeleteLast year I was sitting at a bench in a woodland with my top dog & a hare ran past us & stopped right in front of us & looked at me straight in the eyes.It was magical x
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I'd cope if I had hares so near to home! Fabulous photographs, well done.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. I usually only see hares dashing off through some countryside when I've disturbed them when hiking! At least they don't make me jump as much as the pheasants do!
ReplyDeleteFabulous...one of my absolute favourites.
ReplyDeleteArilx
Love your photographs! Wow! We don't see hares here, just small rabbits once in awhile.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Well done!
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos. Well done.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, thanks x
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures. We have lots of jackrabbits here. I took a picture of four of them playing on my front lawn the other day and posted it on my blog. Unfortunately I took it with my phone, through the window, so it isn't the greatest picture. We have them year round, snow white in the winter and then they turn brown in the spring.
ReplyDeleteI never seem to have my camera handy when things get exciting outside. I always have to search and once found the excitement has usually disappeared.
ReplyDeleteVery nice photos of the hare.
God bless.
I think this is one of the most significant information for me.
ReplyDeleteAnd i’m glad reading your article.
But should remark on some general things, the web site style is perfect,
the articles is really great : D. Good job…
