Rushing to the Sales?

No.

I just got these from the Cancer Research shop when I was in town doing a couple of hours at the Home Start charity shop.
With the photos of the Christmas picture I took ready to make into cards and a few cards left anyway, I have enough for Christmas 2019.

Note to self........DO NOT BUY ANY CHRISTMAS CARDS FROM CAR BOOT SALES

(When I mentioned about not spending much in January I forgot I've got a dentist check up appointment in a couple of weeks..... botheration........... and didn't plan on Christmas cards either!)

Back soon

  1. Dental visits are painful in more than one way, aren't they? Good luck with that one.

  2. It's a good idea to buy cards, and other Christmas stuff, in January isn't it, there's lots of it about and at cheap prices.

  3. I saw some beautiful Christmas cards on sale in a book shop yesterday, now I'm kicking myself for not buying them. X

  4. That's the only thing I think I need to buy from the sales this year. I picked up two 3 metre rolls of lovely Christmas wrapping paper from Sainbury's the other day for 50p each, so that's that sorted. Two packs of cards will complete next Christmas's shopping.

Oh and I've just realised we need a calendar for the office, but if I wait a couple of weeks they will be reduced considerably too 🙂

  5. I don't plan my money that close, it allows for the purchase of items when seen at a great price, but only items we need, not want.

  6. We actually remembered to buy our cards for next Christmas, for a change!

  7. Be positive, you may not need any treatment for your teeth and the cards were a bargain.

    1. Even a check up is expensive when there is no NHS dentist!

  8. Those are really pretty cards and a nice price! I admit I didn't buy a lot in the sales. I am still making a couple of Christmas cards while I have the Christmas stuff out in my craft room. I'd like to have some on hand as I used up most of what I'd made this year.

  9. Very cute cards. After Christmas I organized my cards and have enough for the next several years - partial packages from previous years. Also I have plenty of Christmas return address labels collected from charities. No post-Christmas spending for me.

I love the drone photo your son took of your home. I can see why you want to remain there as long as possible. (Don’t let your son near Gatwick. HaHa.)

    1. I did ask if Son-in-Law had been anywhere near Gatwick recently!

  10. I bought some Christmas wrapping paper and some gift card boxes on sale, but I'm staying away from the stores now. I don't need a thing, but with holiday items on sale for 75-90 percent off, I wouldn't be able to resist!

  11. Re paying for the dentist - because, apparently, my dental hygiene is "exemplary", I've only had to go every 9 months for the last few times. So, not only have I not had treatment to pay for, but I'm spending 50 per cent less on examinations.
This may all go to pot by the next visit of course, but it's a good thing to work towards!
(About four years ago though, I had to pay over £2k on sone fiddly root canal work - that hurt in more ways than one!)
