Not made in wartime! but using the wartime recipe that I wrote about on the 23rd HERE.
I didn't try it myself before Boxing Day and reheated portions in the microwave for me and BiL [after making him read the blog page about it so he knew what he was letting himself in for!] It was absolutely delicious, especially with custard and cream. Light and fruity and plenty sweet enough despite the very little sugar.

DeleteSounds lovely, the breadcrumbs will have made it lighter I guess. Good idea to use the raisins out of the mixed bag of nuts and raisins. Both Christmas cake and pudding are far too sweet, rich and heavy for me now, but I might have a go at making this pud - I'm sure husband will like it!

I've not had any Christmas pudding this year, but that sounds like the sort I would really like, as opposed to the heavy, really sweet usual ones.
