You just never know what you are going to find at a car boot sale and last weekend I found 3 chocolate rabbits. Actually I could have had more but decided that maybe 3 were enough.
Someone had a whole tray full and selling them for 3 for £1. They are only just out of BBE date and being Lindt are sure to be good .
My plan is to eat the chocolate (of course) and use the ribbon and bell on some Christmas decorations that I just have to first stitch!
I made a few of these years ago and still have a couple that go on my Christmas tree most years.
Better get stitching.
(I went off chocolate in the heatwave of 2022 and hadn't eaten much until recently getting hooked on Maltesers! which I count as supporting local industry as the malt for Maltesers is prepared at Muntons maltings in Stowmarket!.)

All the more reason for eating Maltese! Oh the hardship!!
ReplyDeleteMaltesers, grr auto correct!
ReplyDeleteI'm finding them too addictive - must stop
DeleteI wish I could "go off" chocolate. No hope there. I like your little C/tree x-stitch. I laid down my stitching when I did my hip in and hope to get back to it soon. Better moving around right now.
ReplyDeleteI've hardly done any cross stitch for several years - but will get some little decorations done to send in the post.
DeleteThose bunnies were a find!
ReplyDeleteA good surprise find!
Delete3 for £1 - wow that is a bargain.
ReplyDeleteIt 'amuses/annoys' me the BBE - as if on the stroke of midnight of this mythical date the food becomes unsafe to eat ....
I had covid in 2023 - not eaten chocolate since then - s'pose something good came out of that vile virus.🙄
I wasn't worried about the date for chocolate - plenty of sugar to preserve it!- I just hoped it hadn't been kept somewhere that had turned it white in the heat - but it's fine
DeleteBestBeforeEnd means they taste better when fresher, not that they are unsafe. It is about quality, not safety. However, Use-By DOES imply a health risk
ReplyDeleteNo health risk with Good Chocolate ........... except to waistline!
DeleteLove the little Christmas decoration and it will be a nice project for colder nights. Catriona
ReplyDeleteI've not done much cross stitch lately but have made a start on these already
DeleteExcellent price on those chocolate bunnies. I think people tend to pay too much attention the BB dates
ReplyDeleteThey cost £s in the shops before Christmas I think.
DeleteThose Lindt bunnies are so tasty
ReplyDeleteAlison in Devon x
Rather a lot of chocolate to eat all at once - I shall spread them out
DeleteBunny bargains!
ReplyDeletePenny
Definitely!
DeleteAt a store near me. we found 12 ct ferro Roche chocolates for 80 cents each BOGO. You can believe I snapped up a dozen of those in a hurry! 144 truffles for the princely sum of $4.80. I stuck them in the freezer to make sure I don't cave.
ReplyDeleteGood idea - mind your teeth after they are frozen though, i broke a tooth once trying to eat chocolate that had been in the freezer
DeleteI will have to let them thaw...which hopefully will allow me time to set firm limits on my indulging.😁
DeleteI avoid chocolate as it often gave me headaches. You've reminded me that I should get cross stitching for Christmas, too. Thanks, Sue!
ReplyDeleteHeadaches are no fun
DeleteLindt makes great chocolate and the bunnies are adorable.
ReplyDeleteLucky find!
Susan
Their chocolate is one of the most expensive here
DeleteWhat a great combo -- bunnies, bows and patterns! I want to see the results and how you use the bow! Meanwhile, I just got you bookmarked so until Blogger figures itself out, I can find you! If you haven't been able to access Blogger reader (don't know if it's acting up all over the world or just here), please follow me by email -- you can sign up on the Marmelade Gypsy home page on the right rail. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe ribbon will be the hanger for the tree decoration with the bell on the bottom.
DeleteStill accessing blogs via my reading list just have to click on blog name to read as they are not updating - it's world wide!
Maltesers - that brings back my childhood although they were never my favourite sweets. Roderick
ReplyDeleteThey are a bit too more-ish!
DeleteMalteasers are my favourite chocolate, but have you seen the price of a box! Xx
ReplyDeleteThere's a guy at car boot sales who has the mini packs cheap as they aren't the right weight or mis shapes - very handy!
DeleteThat was a good buy! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThose look familiar. I think I gave granddaughters some at Easter this year.
ReplyDeleteNice find! Good that you'll be able to use the ribbon and bells
ReplyDeleteGreat deal on the chocolate bunnies.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
That was a good buy, something tasty and something that will be useful all in rabbit form. :-)
ReplyDeleteMaltesers are the chocolates that I miss most since I stopped eating milk chocolate, the dairy-free ones are just not the same.
