Jewelled Mini Fruit Cake
Christmas Cranberry Chutney
Beetroot Chutney
Spiced Nuts
Chocolate Cookie Mix in a Kilner Jar
Plus some things not home made
Flavoured coffee sachets
Wafer rolls for the coffee - like you get in posh coffee shops!
Savoury Biscuits
Lindt Chocolate Bear
Scented sachets
All useful I hope and all packed into the Jute bag to use for many years.
So some of the ideas I came up with through the year didn't actually get used - they will be noted for 2019.

That list looks pretty good to me, and the cake looks very pretty good.
ReplyDeleteAll lovely things, and using the jute bag was a genius idea....I'm sure the recipients were delighted to receive it all, I know I would be.
ReplyDeleteI am sure the recipients loved your gifts. It's something I might try New Year, I must remember to make a note in my dairy next year.

Just look at that cake - it looks like treasure and must taste absolutely wonderful! Such lucky recipients!

Like the idea of the jute bag instead of a cellophane wrapped hamper. I made bags for my gifts this year and hope people will reuse them. Do you remember “chellies”, Sue? I think they were made from angelica and were used by my mother on cakes instead of glace cherries- the green decorations on your cakes brought back the memory so vividly.
ReplyDeletelooks like a lovely list of goodies, I may well follow suit next year !
ReplyDeleteThey sound absolutely lovely Sue.

Lucky recipients!
ReplyDeleteSounds very good. I always did my daughter a hamper of 'interesting foods' - the sort of things you like the look of but wouldn't buy yourself. However, she is living back with me for a few months so I didn't do one this year
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely lot of things! I'm sure people loved them especially as they were put together with love. Those are the best kinds of gifts.
ReplyDeleteStill think that is a lovely idea. Everything looks and sounds good.
ReplyDeleteThat photo of your cottage makes such a wonderful header photo.
ReplyDeleteYour hampers sounded lovelyand that cake especially good - I'd make it for my offspring, but none of them like fruit cake. I just got together a selection of edibles for them as they all enjoy cooking - various cooking oils - Tam's had truffle in as she loves truffles (YUK) and/or good balsamic vinegars, spices, little jars of black peppercorns as I couldn't find the one I knew I had bought, got a fresh one and then found the older one (naturally!), multi-coloured pasta, orzo, small jars Bramble Jelly (home made) etc. They were received with delight as I am sure yours were too. Must borrow some of your ideas for next year.
"jewelled" is just the perfect description of the mini fruit cake. It looks delicious, and the rest of the items in the hamper sound excellent, too. A gift anyone would appreciate!
