I did remember to snap Jacob, now 2½ in his den (under a blanket hung between chairs) on Thursday before they went home, he has his favourite cars with him and Mummy's phone!
I'll have to take my camera next time I visit Florence to get some photos of her too.
Having all my family here was the best present but I had some other nice presents for Christmas (including the ones I had chosen for Col's brother to give me!) and just a couple of strange pressies that make me think that people don't know me at all! Which I know sounds awfully ungrateful. Sorry.
The puzzles I choose - one will be started today.
This looks interesting - something I choose myself
A Robin nest box in the shape of a teapot. I shall wedge this into a tree that's covered with ivy rather than fixing to a wall or fence.
And a bamboo and bristle pan brush from a penny pincher pen friend- very handy.
And somewhere in the country is a person with the same name as me who is missing a book from their Amazon wish list, because my nephew gave me a book that was supposedly from my wish list but certainly isn't!

You have received many lovely gifts and I agree with you that having family with you is the best gift of all! Jacob and Willow have sure gotten big and they are just as cute as ever. I get so wrapped up in having family here that I forget to take pictures too, so you are not alone there. We must think alike because I put back some sweet treats for later in January as well! I started on a new puzzle today also. I enjoyed the holidays but it is nice to have time for things like puzzles and books now. Take care Sue.

I know the puzzle is Staithes, but it looks rather like Boscastle in Cornwall. Your grandchildren are growing up fast. Some lovely presents there, Sue, the glass coasters and butter knives especially. I love Lindor chocolates, my favourite!

ReplyDeleteI had some new heavy duty bread tins (asked for!) and 'posh' smellies (also asked for - I wouldn't personally pay that price but I like getting them as gifts (not especially 'posh' - Sanctuary range from Boots) new slippers as my old ones were literally falling apart on the soles and some yummy edibles. All practical/ will be used up and then gone - my kind of presents!
Smellies are one thing I don't like as a present because I don't use anything with perfumes. So any I get given go straight off to the next car boot sale!

DeleteApart from the photos of your gorgeous grandchildren, my favourites are the coasters and the jigsaw.I started my jigsaw on 26th but it’s wonderfully challenging so will last a few more days yet.

DeleteSome lovely thoughtful gifts. I envy you the place to make up a jigsaw - I have to cat-proof mine and the trolley I put one out on Boxing Day had braces in the corners and the jigsaw is about an inch too long in each direction. Do I move it to my sewing room table or just give up?!

DeleteI have rarely taken photos at family events. Usually it is because I prefer to be in the moment and because everyone else is taking them anyway. But I got a new camera (before Christmas) and was able to get some good action shots of the grandchildren opening and playing with presents. Your grandchildren are lovely; clearly they bring a great deal of joy to your life.

Your grandchildren are beautiful! For those of you that have cats and want to do puzzles, I ordered the following which works quite well from Amazon: Lavievert Yellow Felt Mat for Puzzle Storage. It's actually just a large piece of felt and you roll the puzzle up in it to store it. When you unroll it, you might have to press a few pieces together, but it works quite well.
