A Happy Day

I felt very lucky opening my presents - lots of lovely things.

Books and chocs and boxes of frothy coffee, a stick blender and new jam spoon, Christmas coasters, a book mark and produce bags and a tea towel from Penny Pincher friends and those lovely wooden mushrooms and soap from my penfriend on a windy Scottish island.

Off to Sister in law's house with the Christmas pud for a lovely day with too much good food! More presents of books and chocs and lots of laughter.

Home late on a very cold and icy night.

I hope your day had food and laughter too and safe journeys home.

Back Tomorrow
Sue

  5. Hi Sue, good to hear of your nice Christmas Day, with all those lovely gifts, like you I too got a nice collection of presents, one of the nicest being a box of sandalwood soap which OH sent to India for, think he got me enough to last till next Christmas but I’m not complaining! I’m expecting to youngest son and Little Miss in a bit, he found yesterday a bit of a struggle but we are all trying to get through this first Christmas together.

    1. My Sister in Law had found a strange Christmas quiz game and even though she read the rules several times I'm still not sure how to play it!

  7. Yes, definitely lots of lovely and useful things there. I love the mushrooms and soap. And produce bags are a brilliant gift, handy for using in the washing machine too to put your delicates in.

    1. I'm a bit wary of scented soaps but this is Calendula and nettle and smells lovely.
At my age I don't have many delicates!!

    2. Haha ... me neither. But they stop the wires from my underwired bras getting out and into the washing machine.

  11. Wonderful that you had a happy Christmas Day, Sue. The gifts you received are lovely. I always give and receive scented soaps at Christmas time; it's a little tradition with one of my closest friends that no matter what else we give one another, there'll always be soap as both of us love it.
