Why am I always tempted by craft things?
On the shelves "to do" I have
- Terracotta self hardening clay ( found at a car boot sale) to make myself some plant labels like I made for the Hampers last year
- Some acrylic paints to paint pebbles(last years 12 days of Christmas presents )
- A kit to make tiny books (ditto)
- Everything needed to make wax food wraps for gifts (wax was bought about 2 years ago)
- Still lots of card- making bits
- Plenty of cross stitching materials
and then I found this in a charity shop in Ipswich for £2 and couldn't resist, better make them for this years Christmas Hampers.................
................and all the time my main hobbies are reading, writing this blog and gardening, which ought to be enough anyway.
I think I must be afraid of waking up one day and having Nothing To Do!
Update on the Summer of Sport - Super Sunday. The men's final result at Wimbledon was predictable although Matteo Berrettini tried hard, Djokovic went up a gear after losing the first set.
Only watched the beginning of Le Tour before the tennis. The frequent repeated adverts on ITV4 are beginning to drive me nuts anyway. Then THAT football match ...............I was a minute late coming back from the kitchen with my cuppa and missed the first goal - duh!- a goal after 2 minutes is a pretty good start and during the first half everything looked hopeful. Then the second half and the inevitable goal by a much improved Italy and everybody knew where this was heading.
I went to bed and listened to the end on the radio. ............A penalty shoot out.
Oh well it's the World Cup sometime next year,
Back Tomorrow

Having Nothing To Do rates as a nightmare in my book too. Not that it's likely to happen any time soon, is it? :-)

You are always 10 times busier than me anyway so I doubt you will ever have nothing to do!
DeleteHaving nothing to READ would be my worst nightmare. No chance of that happening HERE though!
ReplyDeleteYou have some interesting things to do lined up anyway.
Gutted that we lost, but I could see we weren't playing well in the 2nd half and those teenage lads in the shoot out had SUCH expectations placed heavily on their shoulders. Ah well. . . next year perhaps.
Having nothing to read is such an awful thought - but rarely happens here thank goodness
DeleteBetter to have more things to pick from than nothing to do.
ReplyDeleteWas sorry to read Djokovic might not be in the Olympics, I really thought he would be after a Golden Slam.
That's what I like best, lots to choose from.
DeleteI'm with Bovey Belle...nothing to read would send me over the edge, but, like her, not a present danger with the number of unread books piled up in my house.
ReplyDeleteSame here
DeleteWhat a brilliant buy for £2. I'm like Bovey Belle - I have piles of books on my dresser to read as my biggest fear is to run out of books.
ReplyDeleteA good buy as long as I actually get round to making them!
DeleteI always have a pile of craft projects in readiness, your guess is as good as mine as to why????
ReplyDeleteI just like "doing" ,although don't always get on with things if there is something else I like doing more!
DeleteI watched the Ladies' Tennis Final with friends who had come for the day - and I really enjoyed it. I had a friend here during the mans final so didn't watch that until she went when I switched on. The length of time the match had taken suggested it had been a tough one.
ReplyDeleteBoth were so 'English' compared with the awful behaviour at thefootball.
Thats why I prefer rugby to football. In rugby the players call the referee "sir".
DeleteI always think, as vices go, a stash of craft goodies ranks pretty low! I have a few (OK - a lot) of needlepoint/cross stitch/knitting books, the vast majority of which will never get used, but you never know... xx
ReplyDeleteCraft books are the one thing that got completely cleared out but I have a box folder full of x stitch charts from magazines - I won't run out of ideas
DeleteCan you record the Tour? We record the 5 hour version and skip through the commercials and some of the more boring parts. We've been watching it for so many years that we finally sort of understand it.
ReplyDeleteI probably could record it but then wouldn't get round to watching it later
DeleteI confess we record the highlights program and watch it the day after. I have to be very careful not to see the result though!
DeleteI laughed at your to do list because it reminds me that I have one too. I have to wonder when it will all happen. Example: I have a goose egg to decorate!
ReplyDeleteDecorating eggs is one thing I've never tried!
DeleteI frequently conclude I try to do too many different things, of which different ones get neglected at different times. I thought if I made a list I might be able to organise myself better, but when I got to 20 items I realised what the problem is. Even so, I wouldn't want to be one of those who just do one thing, e.g. gardening or playing music, no matter how good at it that would make me.
ReplyDeleteI plan to do something but then get sidetracked when something more interesting turns up. Like getting the plant stand painted was suddenly way ahead of anything else
DeleteI really don't have a team that must win... but I was disturbed by some of the pictures on FB and my paper that showed some not so nice things from the Italian team!!
ReplyDeleteThere were some idiots outside the stadium trying to get in. Not too many fouls although one or two could have been classed as worthy of a sending off.
DeleteThink it was a good match regardless of who won :) Looks like you are going to have a nice time making all those things - interested to see how you make the flowerpot labels :)
ReplyDeleteThe labels will be like I made last year - they are for putting at the end of rows of seeds. There are pictures if you look under the label "Christmas Hamper Gifts" on the right
Delete
Delete:thanks will take a look
That is a good collection of craft items to enjoy making gifts and other useful things. Not only that but making these things will save you money rather than buying them.
ReplyDeleteTo do lists help us keep track of projects as well as give a sense of accomplishment when things are completed. Some people seem to lose their minds when it comes to sporting events. Nobody likes this, except the thugs causing the trouble. Despicable.
ReplyDeleteWimbledon has been reduced to the same back court gruntathons all the other majors are now, they slowed the grass and the balls.
ReplyDeleteOne day we will have nothing to do. And then suddenly, things will appear!
ReplyDeleteI would love to make tiny books and paint pebbles! But I do the same thing w jigsaw puzzles and never open the boxes.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I just can't picture the day that you would wake up and have nothing to do ... there's always books to read and weeds to attack ;-)
