But I've realised just how much I'm watching when I kept seeing Josh Groban popping up 4 times on programmes over the weekend, promoting a new CD, as they do.
He is a favourite of mine - I have 2 CDs and have known about him for many years but he's grown a beard and suddenly looks so different . Too much bearded Josh Groban and I've gone right off him!

The school sang that to me at my 'retirement assembly' over three years ago so now it always brings tears to my eyes.

DeleteI saw him on TV at the weekend and thought how gaunt he looked. Liked the shorter hair but not the fuzz.(It’s not thick enough to be a beard really) i do like his singing voice though.

DeleteI've heard the name, but only from quiz shows. Never knew what he is actor/singer or just a personality. I don't watch much TV these days as I don't like a lot of the programmes ie Strictly... or Baking... Britain's Got Talent etc, etc.
ReplyDeleteBeards do suit some men and I think Brian Blessed suits his full beard, but not many others do. I still remember the first time I ever saw a beard. I was about seven years old when we visited
relatives in Bath and had gone into Bath itself for some reason and walking towards us was a man with a beard! I remember staring at him and being told not to stare by my Mum.
I'm not sure he has been on quiz shows. He is an American musician,composer, singer and more recently also an actor. He is very talented with a lovely voice.

No, Sue, when I say quiz shows, I mean that there is a question about him, not that he was on one. Those are the only times I come across his name. The same for a lot of other people, I'm afraid. I'm a bit ignorant as to who is who these days.
DeleteGosh, I can see why you've gone orf him - the glasses aren't an improvement either! My son has a beard, and it looks good on him, but some chaps just don't look right with one.

He said people keep commenting on the beard and he had to shave it off for a acting role - think he should have left it off.

ReplyDeleteI remember the first time I heard his voice, it was on the car radio. Of course I had forgotten his name by the time I got home - but I hadn't forgotten the voice. I looked it up on line and ordered a CD straight away.
I can't remember where we first came across him, but I also sent for a CD straight away and that rarely happens

There's no harm in having television on either for entertainment or just simply background noise. I love tv and am not ashamed to say so.
Too many people get all pompous and say 'we only watch the news and documentaries', I love films and a good series, and there have been quite a few of those recently.

I hope I didn't come across as pompous in saying I don't watch much TV, but the fact is that as I am disabled I can't sit on a 'comfortable' chair for longer than an hour without getting back ache. I do watch some excellent series on TV and Netflix, but I can't watch films as they go on for longer than an hour. Not watching much TV, believe me, is not my choice.
DeleteI am obsessed with one afternoon programme. Guess what? Henry Cole and Simon O'Brian upcycling, of course! Find it, Fix it, Flog it. If only husband would stop saying "I had/rode one of those" every time Henry Cole finds a motorcycle.

ReplyDeleteI've followed him for years. He has such a profound voice, especially after being subjected to others whose auto tuned voices on the radio sound like nothing. His Christmas CD is amazing.
