It's lovely to have Eldest Daughter and Eldest Grandson visiting from Surrey and we tend to meet up with Son, DiL, Youngest Daughter and the other 3 grandchildren with them coming to mine to play one day and then all going out somewhere another day.
On Sunday we all went to The Owl Sanctuary at Stonham Barns, mainly because I'd had a 10% discount voucher.
(This is where I stayed in a caravan for 2 weeks between homes - Not in the Owl sanctuary - obviously - but right beside it!)
It wasn't the best August weather, in fact we froze while huddled in coats eating our picnic! but everyone enjoyed getting together.
Here's an owl all ready for an artist to paint it for next year's trail around Ipswich - fund raising for the Hospice.

Oh no, your poor little grandson :( It's a good job little kids are so resilient isn't it? One of husband's young nephews fell out of a bedroom window when he was about 3 (having leant too far out of the window) - he bounced off the porch roof then fell onto the lawn (luckily) - he didn't even have a scratch on him. Looks like you all had a good time at the Owl Sanctuary - despite the weather!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy for you that you are able to spend time with the family. Those days are special, especially since the little ones grow so fast. It looks like they are having loads of fun at The Owl Sanctuary and I imagine they loved spending time at your new home too. I'm sorry the little one got hurt. It's difficult because they don't understand it. I love your owl pictures. Enjoy the week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely time you had with your family and trust the little one will be okay. It really looked the children were enjoying themselves.
ReplyDeleteI had a surprise yesterday my GD turned up expectly while I was doing a little gardening.

I went back to double layers of duvet on the bed last night - so cold here. Slept better too. Nice place to go to see the Owls.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely outing for you all. Sorry about the wee chap and hope he is soon mended. They are so adventurous at that age aren't they?
ReplyDeleteNot too cold here (and we had some sea air too) but heat wave on its way apparently.
Poor little love - hope his wrists heal soon. I realised I'm turning into a Proper Grandma last week. Rosie tripped and scraped her knee. Quick as a flash I produced a tube of Germolene from my bag and helped her feel better. The Owl Trail will definitely be worth a visit next summer.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with your family, spending time with loved ones is something we can't take for granted these days. Oh, I hope your little grandson recovers quickly, it's so hard when they don't understand why they're hurting.
ReplyDeleteSo happy you are having time with the family. Sorry about the youngest getting injured. My three youngest grandchildren have all been called "Sir Edmund Hillary" by me at various times for their daring climbing exploits...with similar results as your young grandson. So hard for them to understand the cause and effect. Do hope your youngster is pain free soon. Not easy for the adults trying to keep him from hurting himself even more.
ReplyDeleteWhat a freak accident for a young one. He won't remember this but I know his mom will. The Owl sanctuary looks like a winner to take the grandkids.
ReplyDeleteSorry it was so cold - it looks a really interesting place to go.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great family outing. Owls are amazing to see. I have owls on my property and occasionally hear them hooting back and forth at night. Active little boys have accidents but they do thankfully heal quickly. Your grandchildren must have had a wonderful time at the sanctuary learning about owls.
ReplyDeletePoor little guy. I sure hope he heals quickly.
ReplyDeleteWonderful outing.
God bless.
Ouch...hope the little fella is soon on the mend. x
ReplyDeleteLiving in Florida with 100 plug degrees odd to see kids in jackets in August…my two trips to England in 2006 and 2008 in June and July were oppressively hot…loved it anyway…love this blog…
ReplyDeletePoor little chap; I hope the wrists feel better quickly.

I'm glad had a fun time with family even though young boy was injured. Lovely owl! Sorry you had to endure rain while eating outdoors. At least you had rain. None here yet. It's been very hot this week. 10% chance of rain on Monday. Will continue to pray that it happens finally. 2 towns close to us had some last week but we did not. Have a good weekend!!
ReplyDeleteFamily company is always nice but especially in your new and settled home. Sorry about the rain, though.
ReplyDeleteI was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
ReplyDeleteliver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
ReplyDeleteI’m definitely going to have to start following some of these blogs, I just recently got into reading blogs and I’m absolutely loving them so far.
Airbrush Tan thank you!
