I had a good look round and then spent £1.50 on 5 tickets from a charity tombola stall. Usually I win nothing but when I opened my tickets I discovered 3 were winners and the prizes weren't just one thing but some taped together and others in a gift bag.
When home I unpacked all these things. A cookery book, a candle holder, small bottle of wine, tiny Christmas crackers, some bath bombs, a small bag of sparkly glittered pine cones and three hanging gold bead Christmas tree decoration plus the mystery below.
I was very good on my morning there because of 'Low spend November' and £1.50 was my only spend. The Corncraft corn dollies are now very expensive - £8 upwards - so they were left and nothing jumped out at me from the stalls or the shop. I avoided the expensive coffee and scone in the cafe by having breakfast before I went out and even passed on the £2 coffee with free mince pie in the barn ......................See my halo!! 😇
On my way through Needham Market when going home I stopped at the Sue Ryder charity shop and found these small Christmas tree decorations of 3 little corn dollies for £1, which seemed a coincidence not to be ignored.
I wonder if that pendant-thingie isn't a scarf attachment... poke the ends of the scarf through and it'll hold it all together? Otherwise, I've no idea, never seen anything like it!! I admire your willpower moving past the coffee and treats. I would've succumbed !

i grew up near Toft Monks and the name of the village in your post makes we wonder if these villages had a connection to monasteries and if any buildings remain. I could not have passed up the mince pie.

DeleteWell that was a good haul for £1.50! All useful and giftable. I was thinking wine glass charm, but no idea of the size of it, but now reading down I agree, scarf ring. You don't see many about.

It was very Christmassy in the big barn - lots of handmade crafts as well as vintage and antique bits - but nothing really sang out to me

ReplyDeleteOf course, now you know it is for a scarf. You can pick up an inexpensive scarf at another sale and gift it to a scarf wearer you know. Or remove the rose and put it on a chain for a pretty pendant or keychain. Lucky prizes, Sue!

Our shops and garden centers are displaying lots of Christmas decorations. I look but have only bought a small copper house.
Like you, I am still closing the gardens/lawns. My bonfire pile is about 12 ft. by 12 ft. We are permitted to burn in February.
I only wear warm winter scarves too so had no idea about the scarf ring, it would need a light weight chiffon or similar. I know who to give it to which is good.

DeleteI never win anything. The ONLY time I did, it was a bottle of Aftershave! So I generally don't buy raffle tickets. Well done with your wins anyway. Looks like a nice fair to wander round.
