Imitation is the Greatest Form of Flattery

Actually the saying should be 'the sincerest form of flattery' but either way this is what my Mum used to say when my little sister was doing that awful copy cat thing - repeating everything I did or said OR when I moaned about someone at school getting the same something or other.

Here it's me copying Sue in Lancs as I'm extremely short of bright ideas for blog posts.(Sorry Sue!)

Sue's post was through her day in photos...........and here's my day - Wednesday-  in photos.

Washing out early...........

Greenhouse stuff watered early too............

Breakfast of prunes and nectarine, marmalade on home made toast and a frothy coffee.

( I got worried one day this week when my frothy milk poured onto my coffee just sank and vanished. I found myself googling "why is the frothy milk not staying frothy?"...............and thought........... good grief woman.... what a trivial First World Problem!)

Wordle in 3.

Ingredients in the bread machine 50/50 wholemeal and white flour.

Main meal...... half of my homemade pizza with salad of lettuce, cucumber and courgette (softened in the microwave) with balsamic vinegar. I drink just water with my main meal.

Bread out of the machine.

Watching the brilliant tennis

And then.........................

........................... I forgot to take any more photos....duh! but I had  a coffee - decaf un-frothy - and biscuit mid afternoon, the rest of the pizza with an apple later.
Then couldn't resist taking a slice off the new made loaf, very soft and difficult to cut,  and having a holey peanut butter sandwich for my supper. With more coffee - again decaf un-frothy.

The washing dried easily, was got in and sorted and I watered the greenhouse stuff again late evening.

Then I went to bed with one icepack wrapped in a tea-towel and my two cooling gel pads which had been in the fridge all day.

Today it's THE semi final, there are two but only the first has a young British  guy playing! As for the second SF - it could be either of them but Djokovic is desperate for a record breaking slam win and I think he'll somehow beat Sinner.

  1. It sounds as though you got a lot done in spite of the heat...

  2. Not too boast but I got Wordle in two yesterday ;) being childish is fun. I see your bread maker makes the same shape as ours, a very tall loaf. Thelma who always wakes up to being anon every morning. Obviously it takes time for my character to materialise.

    1. I really ought to switch the bread machine back to medium where it doesn't make such a tall loaf, it's on large at the moment. Goodness knows what Extra Large looks like.
How odd that you are Anon in the mornings - actually that sounds like a good idea for some things!

  3. I think the hot weather routine is common to many if us at the moment. I hung out washing early, did some gardening, dogs were walked now we've retreated indoors and will later have a lazy afternoon reading before going outside again in the evening. I'm getting plenty of life admin done which is a good thing!

    1. We will need afternoon siestas like other hot countries if it's like this every summer although I'm not sure how I'd switch to staying up late to work in the cool evenings.

  4. My day yesterday included going up and downstairs about 25 times, chasing Rosie or getting things! 8,000 + steps by day's end and I had scarcely been outside :)

I think the downside of the breadmaker is you don't get a good colour crust on the loaf. I take mine out when it is at dough stage and bung it in the oven as I like crusty bread. Ok, costs a bit more in electricity, but makes the loaf more enjoyable for me.

I can't dry stuff outside at the moment due to the pollen. Hopefully in a week or so the worst will have passed - just some late flowering grasses at the mo which are irritating my nose.

  5. Sounds a good way to spend the day during this hot weather. I’m drinking more water alongside green tea and Decaff coffee to keep hydrated. Catriona

  7. You are busy ! I am home this morning - I need to grab some groceries but still in pjs and feeling sleepy
I will head to Wimbledon in a couple of hours - I will not go tomorrow as I am not a particular fan of either of the finalists , so a friend will use the seats

    Come on Arthur !

  8. Luckily, we had rain during the night so I don't have to water my plants this morning. I'll visit my brother who lives in a care facility and then I will grocery shop. My normal Friday events! :)

  9. The heat is so oppressive. Can you buy a stand-alone air conditioner that sits on the floor and can be moved to any room you like? I see them online and occasionally at the hardware store in the US.
Despite the heat, you accomplish a lot.
When the heat departs, you'll ride your bike, get back to all your outdoor activities and feel better about everything. That's how it works for me!

  10. I wish we could get Wimbledon without a streaming subscription. Probably the finals will be on standard channels Saturday and Sunday...maybe. Its amazing that my days go by fast. Three years ago a full day off work felt like forever. Granted, I was in the hardest part of sorting out my husband's accounts and figuring out managing the house alone. I guess it means I've moved forward. We've had the heat too but I think you've had it worst and no AC.

  11. Copy away, it's actually really good to see someone else's day. I forgot to include my Wordle, I've gotten a couple of threes this past week. I do Wordle and Woodoku every day.

That loaf is a thing of beauty, you are really tempting me to buy a bread maker for our new kitchen. I wouldn't be able to resist a slice of freshly made bread either. 😀
