The 'Fery' Tale Continues!

That is the most dreadful pun which they used on the BBC and I'm sure will be sports page headlines today.

So well done once again to Arthur Fery who beat Flavio Cobolli in three straight sets to win and get himself into the Semi Finals. The third set was odd as Fery won 6-0 which seemed much too easy, almost as if the Italian slowed down and gave up.

He plays the  German, Sascha  Zverev on Friday. Zverev is second seed, much more experienced, so it will be a "whole different ball game!"

Sorry!

Nothing else to write about. Too hot to think yesterday, but thank you for all the comments that I didn't get around to replying to. Supposed to be even hotter today.

  1. They are talking about an extra bank holiday if England wins the football. Can we have one if a Brit wins Wimbledon too?

  2. It was extremely hot at Wimbledon yesterday - but what an atmosphere . I really like Cobolli , but I wonder if he ran out of steam , as he was the RU at Roland Garros . Arthur was incredible

    1. Goodness, the heat must have been almost unbearable, I don't know how they play without passing out!
I hope Cobolli can do well in the future and be another up and coming youngster to replace the oldies but I'm glad he waited until after yesterday to do that

  3. I enjoyed watching the match and hope he can go to the final. It’s heating up here too so I will be staying indoors after I come back from the hairdressers. Catriona

    1. Hope you don't have to sit under a hairdryer! - it wouldn't be needed here, hair and washing dry in minutes at the moment.

  4. It was a fantastic match, he ruled the court, his confidence is amazing, they said he will be British no 1 after this run.

    1. It would be so good if Jack Draper can fully recover and Arthur doesn't get injured and we have two brilliant players for the next 10 years.

  8. How on earth is he, or anyone else for that matter, playing in the afternoon heat. He deserves the money he has already won for getting this far.

  9. Heat can really sap all of your energy. Sports & construction outdoors must be very difficult on their systems. I imagine you reading as you sit in front of a fan.

  11. Fery's name is a gift to headline writers. I hope he does well - that is, wins - in his next match.
