I was excited to find Jacqueline Winspear - author of the Maisie Dobbs stories - has a new book being published next year, three years after writing the final Maisie Dobb story. I added it to my list to reserve at the library next year. It's titled ' Charlie Bright' and should be published in March. Hopefully the start of a new series.
Already on my list are several other books by favourite authors due.................
Tim Sullivan has 'The Baker' due in April, another George Cross book
Anthony Horowitz has 'The Vanishing Jury' also due April this is in his Horowitz/Hawthorne series
A New-to-me author, Sarah Hilary, has the second in a series due to be published in April
Jane Thynne's new book 'The Woman with No Shadow' is out in May
Alan Parks has the third in the Joseph Gunner series due in July
Rachel Hore has a new book due in June 2027 'Song for a Suffragette'
The third book by William Shaw in the DS Eden Driscoll series is being published in July 2027
Tracy Chevalier's new book 'My Name is Agnes' is due in September
and in October next year Ann Cleeves is publishing ' The Final Vera'

ReplyDeleteI've got to remember where this post is for next year!
DeleteWhat a list! I must get another Tim Sullivan from the library. I read them on the libby app.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading the # 3 The Patient as tryin to read in order after starting half way through.
DeleteThank you so much for introducing the DS George Cross series by Tim Sullivan. I'm reading them in order, currently enjoying The Politician. Perhaps will check out the Jacqueline Winspear Maisie Dobbs too.
DeleteMary from Pennsylvania
I'm currently watching Marble Hall Murders on iPlayer, written by Anthony Horowitz.
ReplyDeleteVery complicated to read the books in that series but easier to watch on TV. The Hawthorn series is brilliant.
DeleteA new Tracy Chevalier is always good news ! I was a bit disappointed by The Single Thread but really enjoyed The Glass Maker.
ReplyDeleteAnd a new Ann Cleeves with Vera ? I thought the series had ended some time ago.
We need pleasant things to look forward to don't we.
Maguy
I think I've read all her books now and enjoyed them.
DeleteAccording to Fantastic Fiction website re the Vera book
Ooh, you are planning ahead aren't you. But it's a good idea with the library books, to get your name near the top of the list.
ReplyDeleteSince the County Council took back the running of the libraries there seem far fewer copies being bought and longer waiting lists.
DeleteThank you for this, I always look forward to a new William Shaw or Ann Cleeves book whichever of their detectives they feature, although I have a soft spot for Vera. Tracy Chevalier and Rachel Hore too - lots to look forward to:)
ReplyDeleteTwo books you could add to your list, Theo of Golden by Allen Levi and The Names by Florence Knapp. We are reading both for my book club. Also, my recommendation this year was A Far Flung Life by M.L. Stedman.
ReplyDeleteSo many new books to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Lots of new books to look forward to. I daren't look at the new ones coming out anymore, as I'm trying to get through the ones I have!
