Old Post From August 2018

Short of ideas  for blog posts so this is an interesting post from August 2018 HERE. There were loads of comments, but it was sad to see how many of the people commenting have now died. I wonder how many others are still reading the blog, let me know if you commented back then and are still reading - you certainly deserve a special mention!!

Only 7 years ago, not long after Colin died and life has changed again in so many ways since then.

I think I'll do a similar post tomorrow.

  1. I wasn’t reading blogs back then but I am now and enjoying yours very much. Best wishes, Charmaine

  2. I started blog reading in 2014 and am still here. I used to enjoy Margaret Powling's blog (Galant as she called herself), lovely photos of her area and home life. She had some "stick", but I found her writing to be of interest.

  3. Hot Air balloons drive the dogs mad, much barking. I miss Weaver and Margaret Powling (Devon Dreaming) both educated older women, quite different in style but good reading. I much prefer the written word to other more vocal platforms being very hard of hearing so very thankful that you and a few other stalwarts are still blogging although I can never understand American blogs, try as I might. Keep up the good work, thankyou. Sandra.

  4. What a good idea for a post. I didn’t comment that day but I did follow you back then. My blogging ebbs and flows but I still enjoy it

  5. Yours was the first blog I ever read and that was in 2014. The medium was new to me then.

  6. I was reading back then but didn't comment. It was clearly another hot summer. I enjoy George Bellairs books very much, particularly set in the Isle of Man or France.

  7. I didn't comment then, but I was reading. It's hard to believe that was 7 years ago.

  8. Gosh, I left you a rambling comment back then too. I love looking back on old posts and seeing lots of familiar names in the comment section. I miss Weaver and Elaine especially. 🌹🌹

  10. I have been reading for a long time, but rarely comment. I am trying to comment on people's blogs more - hoping to encourage my readers to comment on mine too, I guess! But my blogging mojo comes and goes, so I'm not very regular.
