It had a half price label, so I paid 39p for a sad pot of lanky, overgrown parsley from Aldi.
I stood it in water for a good while. These supermarket growing herbs are always a pot full of seedlings rather than a plant. I've divided the very root bound clump up into 3 pots.
Cut off some but not all of the tops and will see what happens.
If it's a fail I wasted 39p, if a success I saved a bit more than that!

We got so spoiled with the week of good weather that the cold of the last couple of days has been a real shock. I took a hot water bottle to bed again and put away the shorts - hate doing that!
Eldest Daughter is 45 today, how did that happen?
Back Soon

I start the day in long trousers, change into shorts and then back into long trousers, it's a pain. My daughter is a similar age, the years have flown by.
ReplyDeleteIt's frightening how years fly by nowadays

ReplyDeleteI will try again. It keeps autocorrecting the Latin Tag. My eldest is 43 next month. Tempus Fugit!
ReplyDeleteBlogger must have missed out on Latin!
DeleteMy eldest is a mere 39... still a bit of a shock to count up the years. Hope your parsley responds to the tlc
ReplyDeleteNot sure what the parsley will do - I'll see.
DeleteMy eldest is well into his forties too....... unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
I remember being in my 40's - I'm sure it was only a year or so ago
DeleteIt's so surprising when your adult children keep suddenly having more birthdays. My son is 57, no idea how that happened.
ReplyDeleteQuite a surprise to have a daughter so old!
DeleteIt's a shock when your children become the age you're accustomed to feeling yourself.
ReplyDeleteIt really is.
DeleteHappy Birthday to your daughter! May she have a terrific year filled with fun adventures!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 45 she was 20 and youngest was a teen- yet she has a 9 year old and a 3 year old! Crazy
DeleteAll the best and happy B-day to your daughter. How did we all suddenly have adult children? Time passes quickly.
ReplyDeleteHopefully your herb will thrive. My herb plants looked leggy too. I cut them back severely and now they seem to be recovering. They need some sunshine and warmth.
The seedlings might survive and grow - I'll see what happens
DeleteMy oldest daughter will turn 44 next month. Hard to believe. Inside I still feel that age but when I look in the mirror I see my mother as an old woman.
ReplyDeleteHopefully I don't look too much like my mother!
DeleteI don't know how it happens, my eldest is 44 now. I usually struggle to keep parsley alive, even the supermarket ones that I nearly always split. It will be interesting to see if your 39p was a good investment.
ReplyDeleteNot too drastic if the parsley doesn't get going. I froze some last year and then forgot it anyway!
DeleteI always have good value from supermarket growing herbs. I pot them on and get months of eating off them.
ReplyDeleteBoth my kids are in their 50's, having been born in 1970 and 1973. Now I am waiting for the grandkids to reach their 20's!
ReplyDeleteSince I have been staying home and climbing step ladders, I have been dressing in short sleeves and shorts. One of these days I will have to leave the house and will need to dress accordingly.
ReplyDeleteI think your parsley will do just fine for you.
God bless.
I predict the parsley will survive! And a happy natal/labor anniversary to you :-)
ReplyDeleteGood bargain with the parsley. It's not something I often use, I must confess.
ReplyDeleteThe sudden change in weather and that blardy east wind not enjoyable. I even put my electric blanket on for an hour last night, and the heating for an hour too. The sunshine was nice when I drove to Carmarthen and back though.
Sister said it's been really chilly again this week but things might be looking up. Here's hoping warmer weather is back in the forecast!
ReplyDeleteMy eldest is 46 now .. commenting on this to my 91 yr old mum and saying how old it makes me feel , she promptly asked how I would feel if my eldest was 70 this year ( me) .. she’s got a point 😂
