Surprise from the British Library

The second book of my 6 month subscription to the British Library Crime Classics arrived last week and with it came another book - Free!

The author is John Ferguson new to BLCC except for a short story in The Edinburgh Mystery and Other Tales of Scottish Crime. Hope he is readable but as it's set among bookshops it should be OK.

The books came with a bookmark too. In January it was a postcard and bookmark.

 I'm enjoying this subscription!

  3. It's always lovely to receive books through the post, especially when they are completely fresh to you - perhaps never heard of?

I am half way through A Patch in the Forest and see what you mean about it not being a "patch" (sorry, excuse pun!) on her earlier books. She wrote that at an age where the challenges in life were behind her, and this was a more routine accepting Elizabeth West . . .

  4. How lovely. Books are always a gift anyway, even if you've paid for them, because they can give so much. I hope you really enjoy it. xx

  10. Hi, I have enjoyed reading your blog for years, but don’t think I have commented before! I am trying to work out if your new heading picture is of pampas grass - if it is, you may want to search up “pampas grass meaning”! The monthly book subscription is a great gift idea. X

  14. I like the new blog header you have. Also, I will look and see if the British Crime Library Classics is available to me in Florida. That is an appealing subscription.
By any chance are you on Goodreads? It's a free account and a great way to catalogue your books read or want to read. If you are I'd like to follow your to-read list as you've given me good choices for authors new to me.
