For the Grandchildren Again

The oldest grandchildren are growing up and growing out of many of the toys gathered from boot-sales over the last 6 years. I'm starting to hunt out Lego going cheap and had had no luck for weeks until at last came across this unopened Lego City set.

Right ready to keep Eldest Grandson busy for at least.............5 minutes!

The sun catcher painting is for when Eldest Granddaughter stays in the summer holidays.

I like to have plenty of things for them to do when they visit.

And Happy 4th of July to all readers from the US - hope you have a good day

Back Tomorrow
Sue

  1. Great buys-it’s very difficult to find Lego as lots of crafters use it for projects. Catriona

  2. You can't go wrong with Lego as it gets little imaginations working. We find with Lego nowadays that it's only sold as a 'kit' and nigh on impossible to buy basic pieces for children (and adults) to make their own masterpieces. When my daughter was small we bought her a bucket (shaped like a Lego brick) filled with basic shapes and sizes which she still has and has been passed down to her daughters. I think the kits can only be done the once, but the basic shapes can be used a multitude of times.

  3. Thanks for the greetings for our Fourth! The grandchildren are lucky to have a gma who provides thoughtful toys for their visits.

  4. Lego, brilliant stuff, a nice find.
I said happy fourth July to my sister who lives in the USA yesterday - oops, she was too polite to correct me!

  5. Lego is the best toy I know; each grandchild uses it regardless of age or gender. Years ago a neighbour gave the boxful to my children and now grandchildren always dig it out.

  6. Granddaughters close by bring their toys over. I'll have to rethink what I have for when the other two visit in August from Buffalo.

  7. Great finds! It is raining in my corner of the US so no celebrations for us. Cancelled until tomorrow I hope it will be a better weather day.

  8. The Lego set was a very lucky find. Our 4th of July is very rainy. Rain is predicted for the day in to the night. Even the live concert on the Boston esplanade might be cancelled. I have an early evening BBQ and it will all move indoors.

  9. Lego is just timeless isn't it and great for all ages. It's so expensive to get the larger sets now as adults collect them too. I remember back in the day before there were any Lego 'people' we used to snap any little figures out of my brother's toy cars and use them in our Lego houses. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was emptied as was Lady Penelope's lovely pink Rolls Royce. :-)

  11. Lovely finds! It's really tough here to find cheap used Lego. Daughter loves doing them (even though she's an adult) and seems to be good at finding bargains.
