A few weeks ago I saw a square frame at a boot sale but couldn't remember exactly what size my long stitch would be - when I eventually get it done. After checking I made a mental note and hoped to find another and luckily on Saturday at the Ginormous Needham Market boot sale spotted something suitable.
£1.50 paid which is a small saving on buying new -( although Hobbycraft is a long way from home so a bigger saving if you count the diesel).
I really must get stitching - I miss the knit/stitch/natter group morning now I don't belong to the village WI.

There was a posh top hat and tails wedding at the church on Saturday. I only knew because I happened to be in the kitchen when all the people walked down the road passed the bungalow afterwards, back to a meadow which was being used as a carpark. I thought Phew- so glad not to be dressed up on a hot and humid afternoon. I thought the same about all the special sporting stars guests at Wimbledon - dressed up to the nines in the royal box on Centre Court with the roof closed. I'd much rather be at home!
I could change my blog name to "Happy At Home"!
Back Tomorrow
Sue
I think 'happy at home' expresses you perfectly, Sue. It's lovely! xx
ReplyDeleteBetter not change again and Jan below says there is already a blog called that
DeleteMy comment disappeared again! I agree, formal dress in hot weather is no fun at all.
ReplyDeleteOne of the blogs I follow is called Happy at Home.
I checked spam yesterday - I'll look again. Better check out that blog - might have things in common!
DeleteNo, not in spam - so a mystery
DeleteI was at Wimbledon in 1976 which was a scorcher and believe me, Centre Court was a furnace. We didn't see much tennis on that court because we were having to have constant breaks from the heat and athough it was hot on the outside courts it was more bearable.
ReplyDeleteI remember working on the mobile library in 1976 - no air con and it was like being in a heated tin can!
DeleteHappy at Home - that's such a positive thing!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Wimbledon, I prefer the comfort of my living room:-)
Alison in Wales x
Going there doesn't appeal at all - so many people and queues and either raining or hot!
DeleteI think most sporting events are better viewed form home, you may miss out on some of the atmosphere of the event but you have a good view of proceedings and all the amenities you need. Including tasty food with no queues and outrageous prices.
ReplyDeleteThat frame was a timely find, excellent.
Very pleased with finding the frame - so excited I forgot to haggle!
DeleteYou are right Sue (A Smaller Life). My husband and daughter went to Silverstone every year to watch the Grand Prix while I stayed at home (didn't fancy it) One year Michael Schumacher crashed into a barrier I think and my husband rang to fiind out what had happened.
DeleteThat is a very nice frame for your lovely needle work. I was sorry to hear you no longer attend the local WI. It always sounded really good. Formal dress and hot weather do not combine well. Let's hope the wedding was a short ceremony and the top coats could be removed. It is hot and humid in Massachusetts. Today is rain.
ReplyDeleteI still go to another WI and may well re-join here in my village next year when I see the list of speakers
Deleteyour long stitch is wonderful! lucky you to find a frame
ReplyDeleteCathy
I really need to get stitching and finish it before Autumn
DeleteOh, that could be my blog name too.......if only I had a blog!
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy reading yours and it's so nice to know there are others 'happy at home' too!
Blogging is fun - you could start one - it's easy!
