Advent 2024 Not a Christmas/Winter Photo

I walked into the Christmas Makers  Market and the first stall was The Chair Lady - who's based in a village just a couple of miles away, and does all sorts of re-upholstery for people's furniture and also makes cushions and footstools to sell. This was such a perfect match and just what I'd been thinking about getting to stop me sitting with my legs crossed and irritating the damaged knee. The lady selling has the bases made with sturdy castors and then upholsters them herself using material that was once made for Multi-York, who were a local based company until they closed and were taken over and vanished.

Quite unusual for me to spend out without a lot of deliberation but I would never have found such a sturdy, good size, right height stool or a better match anywhere else, probably ever again.

I knew low spend November was a good idea - it meant I didn't have to worry or feel guilty about buying it.

  2. Fits in perfectly. Picks up the green of the chair plus the grey of the rug.
Just have to watch grandchildren bickering over who is going to sit on it

  3. Oh that's such a good partner for your chair. Footstools are fantastic, for resting your knee, holding your magazine, or seating the grandchildren. Have you considered spraying it with Scotchguard to protect that lovely fabric from spills?

  13. That is a lovely purchase, as well as keeping your feet up and you nice and comfy, it will be a perching place for the grandchildren and, with a tray on top, a very useful coffee table.

    1. Don't think I dare use it as a tray coffee table- I did think about it but decided to carry on putting my coffee on the windowsill out of the way.

  20. What a great find! The colours are perfect and the design isn't going to clash with anything . Well done You! And you supported "local" too. Scotchguard is a good idea, it really does make stains sit on the top. And if you do it yourself, you can repeat it until the can runs out.
