I've put autumn away and got December out of the box for the top of the bookshelf.
I love my wind-up snow globe which I bought the Christmas after Colin died, I called it my present from him, it plays Jingle Bells, the grandchildren love it too, although I still have heart failure when any of them think they are big enough to pick it up!
The snowmen are very old and also from charity shops as is the bell. The Lilliput Lane Frosty Morning Cottage was one of the few things I rescued from mum and dad's house when my sister threw so many things in a skip after Dad died.
I'll be adding a bunch of flowers here later and a jug of greenery.
Back Tomorrow
Sue
What lovely items to have on your December shelf. They all seem to hold such lovely memories.
ReplyDeleteYour snow globe is a real treasure, it is lovely and no wonder you don't want little hands touching it! I like the Friendly Village range a lot and truly wish I'd known about it when I lived in America. I would have bought a dinner service, although it's not a pattern I would like to serve food on, it's more to look at and enjoy, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteIt’s a lovely display and very Christmassy

That snow globe is so lovely and so special
ReplyDeleteThe plate is beautiful. I always love a wintry scene. X
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely collection of things, just the touch of greenery that you are planning and it will be absolutely perfect.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely arrangement of treasures.
ReplyDeleteThere are some lovely things to be found in charity shops, if you get there quick and well before Christmas! I like the simplicity of your arrangements, and the little cottage is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThose are sweet, pretty decorations and just the things to start getting in the Christmas spirit, Sue!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely display and the flowers will just finish it off nicely. Catriona
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of seasonal change on a little shelf.
ReplyDeleteI have a very small shelf over my gas fire that can get cluttered.
I normally put something Christmassy out on it in December but ringing the changes throughout the year is an even better idea.
Most of my treasures have come from charity shops too, along with some much loved hand-me-downs.
Such lovely Christmas decor. That snow globe is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
