The last day of the 24 days of Advent Photos 2022 . I think I've managed not to copy many posts from the last seven years of Advent Photos.
Todays photos are more pages from the little book -A Christmas Album.

What are your jobs to do today to be ready for Christmas visitors?
I'm cooking a ham for the first time in many years, the two Suffolk families plus BiL are here on Boxing Day and then the ham will be my meals for a week! Proper ham in a sandwich is one of my reasons for not being a fully signed up vegetarian - it's completely different to any pre-sliced vacuum packed stuff which I never bother with nowadays.
I've also got to deliver a hamper after I've finished making spiced nuts to add to it and wrapped it all in cellophane. I didn't want to make them too soon before Christmas as I'd have been tempted to eat them rather than put them in cellophane bags to give away! I'm delivering the other hamper on Christmas Day especially so I can say hello to my Nephew and his FiancΓ©e and my niece and her partner, they've been together for nearly 3 years and I've still not met him.
Our weather systems in this country mostly arrive from the West, and the extremely cold weather that's occurring in the US right now sounds very nasty, so will it cross the Atlantic? That's the question. Hope all US bloggers and readers are OK over there - stay warm and safe.
Have a good day
I'll be back (briefly) tomorrow
Sue
You sound very ready to enjoy! Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI'm hopeful for a Good Christmas - lots of good things to eat
DeleteIt's still December 23rd. here but I have a list of things to do tomorrow. Your ham sounds lovely. We're having a capon on the 25th.
ReplyDeleteI shall do chicken and a vegetarian nut loaf on Boxing day - lots of veg - all good to eat
DeleteWhen my mother was a child, their father would take them across the road to their uncle's house. He would be waiting with a light, and they would go out to the dark barn. The cattle would begin getting to their feet. To my mom, it was a magic moment that she remembered all her life.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful story.
DeleteI'm pretty much ready, hubby is working today so it's my chance to clean the bungalow. Off to daughter's House tomorrow then they will be here Boxing day for lunch.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a very happy Christmas, Sue.
I need to do a bit of hoovering and tidying too - and make beds for family who are staying here over night
DeleteI have loved your advent posts, thank you so very much.
ReplyDeleteHave a peaceful and enjoyable day. xx
I've enjoyed hearing some music that I didn't know about on your blog so thank you too
DeleteIn total agreement about the ham! Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteHoney Mustard glaze - is the best thing about a home cooked ham
DeleteI have no jobs to do!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Christmas, however you spend it.
Hope you have a nice quiet day!
DeleteHappy Christmas to you and your family. I have enjoyed your advent posts very much-thank you. Catriona
ReplyDeleteThank you - Hope your Christmas is a good one too
DeleteWrap presi's, mostly books, make cranberry sauce, then tonight lay the dining table and get out the various pots, pans, dishes etc that only get used when I'm cooking lots of food - my favourite time is the days after Christmas when I don't have to think about what to cook! Hope you have a lovely time with you family.
ReplyDeleteLeftovers is the best thing about Christmas! The microwave is much in use
DeleteJust us again this Christmas so not too much prepping. DS and family are all ill with whatever is going around, sounds nasty. Hopefully we and they will be better for after Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you get to see your son and family soon after Christmas
DeleteMy only jobs for today are to mash up a tin of salmon with finely diced red onion and mayonnaise ready to make sandwiches to take to Mum's for a buffet we are putting together between us all, and then remember to take the bread for those sandwiches along with the vegan sausage rolls out of Alan's freezer. Then I will pack up all the non-chilled items ready for the buffet, and then watch telly with a glass or two of wine. Last night's Christmas movie was Die Hard ... so very debatable on so many levels. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas Sue, I hope you have a lovely day with your family. xx
I am hosting Christmas Eve (snacks and desserts) and Christmas dinner (tacos!) so I don't have to go out into the fierce cold - everyone comes to me! We don't get too fancy but we will have lots of laughs and excited grandkids!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a Happy Christmas, Sue.
I will see 3 out of 5 grandchildren and they'll be extra excited too! Great Fun.
DeleteHappy Christmas and thank you for all your comments through the year
Have a lovely Christmas with the family. PatC
ReplyDeleteThank you - we must meet up for coffee in 2023 before we get any older!
DeleteHappy Christmas Sue. I'm pretty much prepared for the big day. The dining table is set, veg side dishes are ready for cooking and I will pop the prime rib roast in to the oven tomorrow. The big platters will be filled and set on the table for everyone to help themselves. A festive meal bringing family and friends together is always enjoyed. Your roasted honey mustard glazed ham sounds outstanding. I can picture it on a large platter. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to good food and the company of children and grandchildren.
DeleteHappy Christmas
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas Sue. Arilx
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the ham - the two things are so different, and Real Ham can be so delicious. I hope you have a great Christmas Day and really enjoy the holiday season with all your family. Mxx
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas Sue and a happy meeting with the relatives that you have not met yet.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and yours a very happy Christmas.
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas sounds lovely. We visited my mom & brother and went out for pizza on the 23rd. Christmas Eve was wrapping gifts, church service and visiting an older friend. Today we were home, just us 2. Both sons called and we spoke to the grandkids (daughters-in-law were busy doing mom things.) Tonight we are having our small festive meal. Tomorrow we still have a holiday and I will be baking cookies. We will celebrate with our local family on New Year's Eve day.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
