18th January - A Random Post

This is a page from this weeks Radio Times that  might be handy - especially if you like watching sport on TV - Ignore this if you don't.
The Australian Open Tennis is always the first big sporting event of the year - unfortunately it's only on a paid-for TV channel and of course completely the "wrong" times here! so I won't get to see it. Odd that there's no mention of the snooker that's on this week. I'll just look forward to the Rugby Six Nations stating in early February and Tennis in July - lovely summer it will be then - seems a way off at the moment.

I bought myself a new camera - just an updated version of my old jammed up one - or so I thought - but it turned out to be completely different in so many ways, so I've been struggling to get it to connect to the lap top by the cable - which meant the only way to transfer photos was by using the memory card - taking it out and putting it back which I knew might be a sure way to lose it somehow. However after much googling and fiddling about and trying all sorts of things I got  this photo of my living room off the camera and into the picture folder - but will I be able to do it again - that is the question?

Sometimes I really don't like being such an ignoramus when it comes to tech!

  1. Shame Rafa has been knocked out, I love watching him play. Getting anything new is always a struggle, getting to grips with the changes.

    1. Watching him do some warm up exercises on TV several years ago, I thought -"good grief - that won't do the joints much good"! Now Andy M has won a long match with a metal hip perhaps Rafa will have the same and carry on for another few years. Although I do like to see all the new younger players get a chance too.

  2. I’ve just sat here on a cool wet Melbourne afternoon watching Rafa being eliminated- that hip of his really got the better of him today. Probably take a while for him to get back to match fitness again. Heat stopped play on outside courts yesterday - pouring rain today. Can’t beat Melbourne’s weather😎

  5. That's a lovely clear photo of your living room, it looks so very cosy with the log burner. I don't really follow sport anymore. Enjoy!

    1. I had the woodstove added last year for when it's extra cold or when the electric goes off

  10. The Radio Times provides a good listing. Your living room looks very lovely and I bet the stove keeps everything cozy. I have a similar stove and the heat it pushes out is amazing. As for tech: ideally the same but updated model of anything should operate close to the previous model. I always think, why make things complicated? You've done well to master the new process for photos.

  12. I like watching snooker. It's one of the few games I have actually taken sufficient interest in to know what's going on! Arilx

  13. I use the camera in my phone if I want to take a photo. I usually don't think about it until after the moment has passed. I do wonder what will happen to all of the photos my kids take with their phones - no scrapbooks or printed pictures to bring back memories in the future.

  14. I always struggle with new technology. It takes me quite a while to get the hang of doing things a new way.

    God bless.

  15. Good luck working out the camera! I love mine. I do use my phone for a lot of the blog posts. It's easier as I automatically have the photos from my phone go to my google account and I can access that through the blog.
