Today It's The Furniture

Thank you for all the comments yesterday wishing me well in my new home.

All the stuff that was stored in Brother-in-Law's house has been moved in . And he brought over some of the garden things which are now in the shed and garage. A few more things to come later.  He also managed to pull some floating shelves off the wall as they were right where my book-shelves will go.

Furniture coming out of storage today................Son is coming over to help this afternoon.

I have this awful fear that they will open up the furniture van and it will be somebody else's possessions! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Although I'm almost sure this won't happen.

Yesterday was also the first day the Mobile Library has visited the village since they got going again so I was able to walk 5 minutes up the road to collect my 3 reservations.... much better than having to drive and I was able to nip back across the main A road to my old village to cast my vote. Our Suffolk  County  Councillor in the villages  represents the Green Party and he is so well known and popular the signs up in gardens don't say Vote Green or his surname but just vote Andrew! Hope he gets voted in again. I've known him since he was a Cub Scout in my pack back in the late 70's.

Back Eventually

  5. I bet you will sleep well tonight, after all the shifting of furniture and trying to at least get the kitchen straight-ish as it's the hub of any home. Your first night in a new home may not feel so strange as you have been going back and forth to the temporary places. I wish you much happiness in your forever home and hope it was more than worth the wait.

We had a trip up to vote yesterday too - fortunately there was one Police-Commissioner candidate who stood out head and shoulders for me (he had been very active on social media and wanted the things I wanted). This is a Lib-Dem area, so not even Plaid get a look-in . . .

Warm and sunny here today - that bitter brute of a Siberian wind has shoved off, thank heavens.

  6. Pleased everything is coming along well and great that the library has been so at least you can have a rest and read for awhile.
    Still very cold here.
I have seen no sight of the sweet peas I sowed a few weeks ago so have had to tried again, also I have an old sink and sowed wild flowers again this year.
Have a good weekend Sue and others.

  7. I'm afraid things are so nondescript round here that I ended up voting for the candidate I least didn't want. Not positive, is it?

Good luck with all the arranging and home making. And great news about the library van.
    xx

  9. Nice chaps do not necessarily do all the things you want within the Council voting nor particularly with local issues. We had a woman known to everybody and regularly voted in and she made the most appalling decisions for the neighbourhood. I confronted her with them when she called one evening and she admitted her mistakes but too late then. I suppose it was one up for her that she actually admitted many of the things locally that people hated had been started by her and yes, with hindsight they were a mistake. It didn't make me feel any better about her. Have a pleasant afternoon. As long as the bed is in place and a chair to sit on and the tv up and running that's all you need for tonight.

  10. It will be so nice to see all your things again and to go to sleep in your own bed at last. I hope it goes well ... and that when those van doors open it IS all your stuff :-)

    Happy New Home Day. xx
