These Make Me Smile

Sometimes you spend a bit of extra money on something and it turns out not to be worth the expense.

But sometimes you spend a bit of extra money on something and it turns out to be worth every penny.

My third vase of tulips from the cutting garden to come indoors. The colours are even better in real life. I paid a bit extra for larger bulbs in unusual colours and it's  been well worth it.

Back Tomorrow

  1. Don’t you just love tulips? I know I do! Mine are very battered by the wind in my tiny back garden, seeing your wonderful vaseful I think I will do the same... thank you.

  2. They are beautiful Sue. I love tulips. I took a photograph of mine the other day but I couldn't get the colour to look as good as in real life either. X

  3. I'm so glad they are making you smile.
I have a love/hate relationship with tulips. I don't like the tradional red and yellow ones especially when they are together.
Yours are making me think that I should try again with the colours you have.
I crochet and they are making my fingers itch, the colours are so gorgeous
    Thanks for the inspiration! Sue

  4. Love tulips. We had to take Betty to the vets on Monday, they have a gorgeous garden stuffed with plants and flowers and they had the most beautiful tulips I've ever seen. Parrot (frilly edged) ones, each flower head in a mixture of blues and purples, never seen them like that before, absolutely stunning. I should have taken a photo! Flowers always make me smile, I'm glad they do you also.

  5. Gorgeous tulips Sue, they will be magnificent when they open up and do that glorious tulip 'droop' 😊

I bought a bunch of £1 supermarket daffs last month, and they gave me two weeks of smiles.

  10. I think that rule applies to a lot of bulbs Sue - certainly in my experience. They certainly are a lovely colour. Hope Col's health is continuing to improve.
