Favourite Song of the Moment

Sometimes a bit of music heard on Radio 2 just makes me stop and think "that's good, what is it?"

This is my favourite at the moment..............If the world was ending...........

Didn't feel the same about this years Eurovision Song Contest entry played for the first time yesterday - just OK not amazing and we won't win anyway due to the Brexit thing!

  1. Totally agree - I doubt we ever will again as there's too much bad feeling. It worries me a lot - the bad feeling, I mean, not Eurovision.

  2. I agree also and think that there was bad feeling for us before Brexit.

  3. We have not scored well for years, long before brexit. I remember Terry Wogan treating it as a comedy. I think there is tactical voting.

  4. We have not taken any interest in the Eurovision for years and it has nothing to do with Brexit either way. We do not have a music industry that will produce a top contestant for the competition in the way of Sandi Shaw or Cliff Richard, we have moved on and away from those days when we dominated it and Katie Boyle presented it. For the newer European countries, for instance, Latvia and Lithuania, the novelty factor is there and it is now their day.

  5. I'm not really into Euro vision but this song doesn't do anything for me, so I think you are right, not a winner.

  7. There was something similar in the message of both songs. Actually rather impressed by the British song for Eurovision, though have never watched the programme. Loved the dog.

  8. I often hear a piece of music and am thankful for being able to track it down easily on the internet now.
I don't watch the Eurovision though - didn't know it was still going until many bloggers pro brexit said how delighted and relieved they were that we would no longer be taking part now we are out of Europe - another Brexit fantasy!

  9. Best not share that with eldest daughter who's just (sensibly) split from partner of 4 years . . .

  10. I enjoy Eurovision as a light hearted bit of entertainment. Am not worried about the voting or who wins though. Arilx

  11. I agree, "If the World Was Ending" is beautiful and quite moving when you really listen to the words. I admit to being a bit teary-eyed!

  12. ‘If the World Was Ending’ is a beautiful song, I’ve not heard it before, thanks for putting it here. As for Eurovision, I’m not a fan. Although I know people who have Eurovision parties and love it!
