Where Are My February Library Books?

Not where they should be!

The Mobile library was off the road for it's MOT and service and then the spare mobile which is shared around the county, broke down too. Andrew the library van driver rang me to tell me - I said "aaaaaaggghhhh NO books! Disaster! "

I've had a search online for the library routes and if I give him a ring and ask him to put them on the van for Friday of next week I should be able to pick them up from a village not too far away.

Meanwhile I'm not exactly short of books at home..........this is my living room 'waiting to be read' heap and some have been sat here for a Very long time. And on the shelves upstairs are many, many more.

Yesterday I took Youngest Granddaughter (YGD)to a Toddler group - long time since I went to one of those..............about 30 years! Then brought her  home for her tea.
Today I need to go shopping and then it looks like a weekend at home again with storm Dennis blowing it's way across the country.

It was lovely to see so many comments about the Golden Fleece knitting book - thank you to everyone, apologies for not commenting anywhere - bit busy with YGD and before that clearing up a bit of fallen tree!.......Picture tomorrow.

  1. Hi Sue. Finally caught up, been reading from the beginning and I really enjoy reading your blog. You inspire me to try new things. I bought a rhubarb crown I am going to try growing in a tub. Don't know if it will work but I will have fun trying. Lesley

  2. No library van? Disaster! Mind you, as you say, you have no shortage of reading material!
    Have a safe weekend.

  3. It's unfortunate about the library van breaking down, but take advantage of the enforced break by getting those waiting books read and the pile reduced. Or do you thrive on all those pages still to be read? Lol.

Taking your YGD to a toddler group should have got rid of a bit of energy (hers not yours, lol) and made tea-time stress free.

  4. It is a shame about the library van, but your wonderful book stash (I have copied down some titles) should keep you reading for at least a couple of days while Storm Dennis rages around.
How are your energy levels coping with extra childcare duties?

  7. Isn't it funny that even when we have a to-be-read pile, we still long for access to other books? But let's face it, we have to be in the right mood to read certain books--even ones (or especially ones) that has been sitting on our shelves for a long time.

  8. Maybe they should get a horse and cart? Still, you aren't short of a book or ten there.

  9. Thank goodness you have some books in that you can resort to. I am on my last book and need a trip round the charity shops but I doubt it will be this weekend if the weather is going to be bad.

  10. -chuckle- You aren't really 'reading deprived.' -smile- Lovely to have so many books, just waiting for you.

I took care of our oldest Grand daughter, from the time she was 2 1/2 years old, and they moved back here. Yes! It is interesting! The things we have to do, when doing this! "Been there, done that, got the T-shirt." But we find ourselves, doing them again!

  11. It sounds like you are good at tracking down the library van! I hope you are able to catch up with him next Friday. It is wonderful that you have been able to spend more time with your granddaughter. How is that new grandbaby doing? Have a wonderful weekend.

  12. Time to buy an emergency Kindle! Your library should have free books to borrow on it.

  13. Sorry that your library books are delayed, but it looks like you are well supplied with reading material in case of a drought.

I am behind in my reading so will try to catch up, I am interested in that knitting book.

    God bless.

  14. All those lovely Dean Street Press/Furrowed Middlebrow books should give you something to read and enjoy. I especially enjoyed the Mrs Tim/D. E. Stevenson and Nothing to Report and Somewhere in England.
