......... 1small roll of goats cheese , 1 pot Korma curry paste, 2 onions, some frozen spinach, 1 tin of coconut milk and a few other bits and bobs plus a lot of time faffing in the kitchen and I had 10 meals. 6 vegetable Korma curries and 4 vegetable and goats cheese pasties.
It seemed to take ages and made a lot of washing up but I'll have forgotten about that when it comes to the eating.
Back Tomorrow
Sue
It looks good, and makes me wish I had the energy to do batch cooking again.
ReplyDeleteThe washing up! That's the trouble when you're batch cooking, but then how simple it is to get a tasty home-made meal from the freezer in the weeks to come. It pays off!
ReplyDeleteBatch cooking is so satisfying - an efficient use of ingredients and energy, an afternoon in a warm kitchen - and a freezer full of nourishing easy meals for cold days ahead when you can't face making anything complicated.
ReplyDeleteI did some batch cooking today as well. It's a great feeling to have some meals on stand-by, even if it means a lot of work initially. Enjoy :) xx
ReplyDeleteI just borrowed a book from the library on batch cooking and although it's probably aimed at families I'm getting some good tips from it. Your food looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
I have half a large butternut squash lurking in the fridge, never mind soup-making, I'll do a curry instead.
ReplyDeleteLooking delicious. I did some batch cooking last week because of the heavy snow forecast which never came so now have some tubs ready for when they are needed. Catriona
ReplyDeleteHubby is batch cooking soups at the moment, very useful in the cold spell.
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious, will be lovely just to get one out to eat with all prepared for you.
ReplyDeleteOh yum! They look fab!! I love sessions like that where you take random stuff and create a ton of meals :-) xxx
ReplyDeleteMy mouth is wtering Sue - I do admire your strong-minded ability to do things like this - it all looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteFuture you will be thanking this you for all that effort. And if you think about it if you made each meal individually there would have been a LOT more washing up overall and a lot more time spent in the kitchen. I always think making at least two servings or meals in one go is so much better and so time saving. It all looks so tasty and satisfying.
ReplyDeleteLook at all those lovely meals that you will be able to just pull out of the freezer in the future.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Always seems to take a lot less time doing the eating than it did the preparation! x
ReplyDeleteIt all looks delicious, Sue! I have a crock pot of split pea and ham soup going right now and I know we will get lots of meals out of it!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your yummy treats!
As we've never got out of the habit of cooking for 6 we often have 'extras' in the freezer - very handy!
ReplyDeleteJust think of the washing up you WON'T be doing when you pop a curry out of the freezer for supper!
ReplyDeleteYou do a good job planning meals in advance. Me? I make the dish that serves 6-8, we eat it and I freeze the rest in 2 serving containers for another time. Tonight I'm warming Chicken Country Captain that I made in December.
ReplyDeleteI will be around in a while, pop the kettle on. Shall I bring dessert? Yum!
ReplyDeleteHow nice it will be to have meals ready for those days you don't feel like cooking!
ReplyDeleteYour homemade meals look delicious. They will be much better than any frozen prepared meal that can be bought at the grocery store.
ReplyDeleteLovely grub! xx
