All of a Sudden We Are..................

...........................halfway through March

When I was out last Sunday a little orange spanner symbol appeared on the dashboard- Bother. I rang the repair place and took the car round on Monday and luckily it was nothing, or rather nothing to worry about, just something to do with settings from new, showing when it's due for service......which has already been done. NOTE TO SELF..........when this happens in March next year I have to hold down throttle and brake pedals together for 20 seconds to clear the prompt signal.

It was so cold and windy this week that I wimped out of swimming, stayed at home and sorted through some more craft bits instead. And, on a whim, decided to make some Easter cards. The only Easter-ish bits I had were some small "Happy Easter" peel off stickers. But what I did have - from the 2018 car boot haul -were some big square peel offs that I'd kept even though I wasn't sure when I'd use them.

Inspired by stained glass in all the churches that I've been visiting I got out the fine-line felt-pens

Colouring in all the little spaces was quite therapeutic.

This week I am grateful for
  • My wonderful children and grandchildren
  • The ease of printing out photos to keep
  • An invitation to  roast dinner with my brother in law and sister in law
  • The car problem that wasn't a problem after all
  • Letters from penfriends
  • Finding out that if I knock 1mm of car wing mirror on the garage door and it falls to bits then I can click it back together again! Another  NOTE TO SELF.... probably not a good idea to try this again!
Thank you to everyone for comments over the week, I just don't seem to have time to get around to replying, which must be annoying for everyone - sorry.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, wherever you are and what ever the weather.........the forecast is awful more windy weather, rain and snow in some places.

Back Monday
Sue

  2. Those cards are lovely. Well done for creative use of your craft stash! Yes they are very reminiscent of stained glass windows. Have a great weekend x

  3. Beautiful cards - lucky recipients. I know what you mean about therapeutic - I find the same with the pottery and with my knitting.
Ooops regarding the mirror but great that it was easily sorted.

    1. I have to be so careful getting out of the garage and usually fold the wing mirrors in. My heart sank when I saw what had happened but finding nothing actually broken and a few minutes working out which way round the bits went back and all was OK- phew.

  4. Those cards are really beautiful and like you say are just like stained glass - perfect for Easter.
Glad the car was OK - our light came on this week saying 'engine trouble' it happens when we go over a road that has a lot of surface water - has always sorted itself out before so hoping it will this time.

  5. I like your 'grateful' for list, its easy to get sucked into our own problems and not see the good things we have, thanks for that reminder.
I love the cards, so pretty.

  7. What beautiful Easter cards. I also had a warning light come on in my car and had to be towed 100 miles to home.

  9. Sue you just don't need to apologise for not replying individually - your list of things to be grateful for is an inspiration to any of us who are also suffering grief and loss. It will be two years next Friday since I lost my beloved - time has gone so quickly but I think of him every single day and like you I try to concentrate on the time we had together rather than on the loss.
    Your cards are lovely.

  11. Like the other people your cards are very pretty and I must make a start soon, I don't make many now but since I have moved it is important that I keep in touch with older friends.
It looks like rain again, a lady in the village is having a Bunnies and Bunting sale in aid of a little boy so I hope it does not rain because I would like to go and I do not drive.

  13. Wow, I love those cards, what a brilliant idea.

Sometimes you're so clever .... other days you knock your wing mirror off , you're just like me ;-)

I hate it when my car 'tells' me things. The one that panics me the most is the tyre pressure warning light. I always dash to the garage to check things, fearing the worst only to find it has lost pressure by two or three 'things' on the gauge.

    1. Haven't had a tyre pressure warning light.......... yet. (Although I've got a compressor which luckily is one of the things I knew how to use before Col died although that wouldn't help with a puncture!)

  20. Clever and beautiful. Which town would you recommend for best charity shops in Diss, Halesworth area? I'm coming home and I'm ready to shop! I'm not sure how I will declare second hand items thru customs but will figure it out somehow.

    1. At least 10 charity shops in Diss! Halesworth is much smaller, haven't been there for a long time . I googled and it looks like there are 2 charity shops there. Stowmarket has 10, Ipswich has a huge amount spread out all over the town. As for the best that all depends whats there on the day!

  23. I just love those stained glass cards. I love the jewel-like colors you can get in those nice fine-lined markers. After my stroke the therapist had me coloring both for the calming effect and for the hand-eye coordination. It is good for you!
