A Big Heap of Library Books

This is more like it - a nice lot of books to last me for the next four weeks

Seven crime fiction, five are by authors I've read before. Plus 'The Lifer's Club'  by Francis Pryor, an archaeologist often seen on TV who is a new to me author as is Catriona McPherson. I must have seen the book by Niall Williams mentioned somewhere - no idea what it is. There are three non fiction............ a cookery book to browse, Surfacing by Kathleen Jamie is one of the books from The Wainwright  Country Writing prize long-list. Finally The Nature of Spring - just something to look through I think.

Four weeks ago I brought home these 6 and read four, details on the Books Read 2020 page

Back Tomorrow

  1. I wonder if you would like Burial Rites by Hannah Kent?

  2. I've read several of Catriona McPherson's Dandy Gilver detective stories and have enjoyed most.

You are very lucky in your library service. Our local library is one of the few in Dorset to re-open. Mornings only and a lot of restrictions. An email from Libraries West informed me that online bookings can no longer be dealt with. TBH, I don't really want to face the library.

    1. The mobile has been back to normal for 8 weeks now but branches are still doing order and collect although some of the smaller ones hope to reopen for browsing next week. I hope they never stop online requests here - that's all I do.

  3. Our Library service no longer runs and our local library is manned a few dats a week by volunteers. I agree you are lucky. Do you watch anything on television? I have quite a few good programmes marked to watch each week - there is some good stuff on if you choose carefully.

  4. Lots of lovely books to read. I've read the books in your first pile by Ann Cleeves, Kate Ellis, Francis Pryor and Martin Edwards. There is nothing more cheering than a pile of unread books to choose from:)

  5. Here's one to add to our list: The Light Keeper's Daughters. Just finished it yesterday and it was a marvelous story. Loved it!
