The idea I had for a blog post didn't happen so nothing to write about again.
The first burial in the churchyard since I've lived here will happen today, an elderly lady well known by the villagers as we had a one minutes silence for her at both WI and Over 60's group. Man and digger were there digging the grave yesterday.
Different to the days of Miss Read's Thrush Green books when gloomy Albert Piggott dug them by hand with much complaining.
Back Tomorrow
Sue
He was an old moaner, Albert Piggott, but I wouldn't have wanted to dig six feet down by hand!! :-)

Me neither - specially in the heavy clay round here
DeleteThe late wildlife man Johnny Kingdom who lived in North Devon until his death dug graves by hand for many a year. Sadly it was a digger that caused his death. x
ReplyDeleteColin loved his TV programmes - many years ago now. Didn't know about the digger incident
DeleteI am sure you must have interesting days to talk about like mine sitting indoors waiting for the tyre fitter and taking phone calls, unplanned posts burbling away in your head, streams of consciousness!
ReplyDeleteIf only. I have streams of nothing much instead of consciousness!
DeleteI use to love the Miss Read books.
ReplyDeleteGoing to have my 4th jab today and then food shopping with my D.
A lady at K & N gave me some thick wool I am going to make a draft excluder for the May Fair.

A Draught excluder sounds useful with the way energy prices are rocketing
DeleteLove your post Sue - delightful little churchyard to be buried in if the old lady had been a well known resident. Love your reply to Rachel too.
ReplyDeleteIt's the first time I've lived close enough to a churchyard to see the goings-on and to walk through
DeleteI think I would be gloomy too if I had to dig a grave by hand not easy work. That is why murders always put their victims in shallow graves yikes!

Very true!
DeleteI love Miss Read books. At difficult times there is nobody like Miss Read to give a perspective on life.
ReplyDeleteI've not had a re-read of them lately - so many library books - so little time!
DeleteDon't agonize over the loss of blog fodder, Sue. Just go with the flow. :-) Such a pretty churchyard to rest in forever. ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteNo. I;m not agonizing - just not doing much to write about!
DeleteHere's an idea - take us on a photo walk around your village. I'm impressed that you have had material to blog about almost every day but Sunday. I can't match that at all.
ReplyDeleteI think I did that after moving in. Maybe I could do it again
DeleteYour posts are fine! We don't need a fancy song and dance with each post. Just hearing from you is enough to know you are well and life goes on!
ReplyDeleteYep. Still here and not done much this week. I have plans for the weekend which should produce blog posts
DeleteI think you are amazing, you have something to write about 6 days a week. I have found it pretty hard doing the April A-Z Challenge and not something I will repeat. Three times a week is fine for me. Even though you have said you had nothing to write about these last couple of days you have and please keep going and do not worry, we all love your writings.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how I've managed to write 6 days a week for so long - too much time on my hands?
DeleteIt is always nice to hear from you. Today, it is so cold and windy in Massachusetts, being outdoors is uncomfortable. Everyone wants Spring weather and it keeps freezing overnight and the wind makes everything feel 10 degrees colder in the sun during the day.
ReplyDeleteWe are getting dry days and chilly nights with cold east winds - no good for plants
DeleteJust a picture from your corner of the world makes me happy. Your trees are starting to leaf out! We had a frost this morning. :(
ReplyDeleteLots of green everywhere now - but still some cold nights
