Writing a blog is fun, but even better is meeting up with another blogger and Joy and I had a good chat when we met up in a coffee shop in Bury St Edmunds and on Wednesday I'm meeting up with blogger Rachel - so two blog meet-ups in one week.
It always surprises me how quickly I can get to Bury on the A14 nowadays. A journey that took over an hour by bus going through villages in 1971 when I first worked in Bury Borough library now takes less than 20 minutes on the A14......... which hadn't even been built back then. Although it takes me nearly 20 minutes to actually get onto the main road first! Not that I mind, because being so far from a major dual-carriageway everywhere at home is so quiet and peaceful.
Last year I bought a slightly naff Christmas decoration for £1(from a boot-sale of course) - a canvas picture with lights run by batteries. I took a photo, printed it out and this year turned them
into.............cards for the family.
Later I added some peel-off labels and hopefully they're good enough to send. The lights show up quite well in the photo.
Thanks to everyone for comments yesterday.
Back Tomorrow
Sue
What a great idea - they are lovely cards and, yes, the lights do show up well.
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed our meet up abd chaqt and am now looking forward to May at Southwold.
xx
Have a lovely time with Rachel on Wednesday.
Deletexx
I so enjoyed our meeting - how annoying about the bit of road in Sudbury.
DeleteMe and Rachel meet up in Morrisons, then I must do shopping for the weekend
Morning Sue, fantastic idea for cards, they're lovely. Meeting blogging buddies is great isn't it, a couple of my best friends are people I met on forums.
ReplyDeleteIt's annoying that us bloggers are spread out all round the country so can't get to meet more
DeleteA beautiful picture which has made great cards! Looking forward to meeting for coffee in the future when I'm in East Anglia. I met someone who lives here in Dorset this week, who says she found my blog through reading yours. Thanks Sue x
ReplyDeleteThat's good, yes I'm looking forward to your move to Norfolk too.
DeleteWhat a great idea, they look lovely.
ReplyDeleteI astonish myself sometimes as I'm not usually prone to creativeness!
DeleteReally nice cards!
ReplyDeleteand no one will have the same!
DeleteThe cards are lovely and everyone will like them.
ReplyDeleteIt must be nice to meet up with other bloggers, I wish sometimes it would be nice but as I dont drive it's not to easy,
Had a lovely surprise on Sunday my grandson and his girlfriend came and I was just making tea and my granddaughter turned up there Mum was away for a few dats and they thought they would surprise me it was lovely, I am so luckly.
It's really frosty this morning and I have to go you Sing fir Pleasure this morning fortunately it's only a little walk away.

Sing for pleasure sounds good, I need to find a singing voice again - I just croak!
DeleteYour cards look beautiful Sue.
ReplyDeleteHugs-x-
Thank you
DeleteWhat a creative idea and they have made lovely cards - I like a good Christmas scene. I agree about meeting other bloggers - they feel like old friends because you know so much about their daily life and ups and downs. x
ReplyDeleteLove that two bloggers I read and enjoy met up over the weekend-2 of my favorites along with Sooze!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI remember when you made those cards and I thought at the time you had great inspiration and foresight. They look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMeeting blogging friends is a bit like meeting pen-pals I should think. At one time I had seven pen-friends in the USA and became quite close to two of them, who I would love to have met, but sadly no opportunity.
That's a shame, Joan. These days it would be so easy. Young folk think nothing of hopping over the Atlantic.
DeleteBrilliant idea! I used to see those pictures at the garden centre and couldn't help rather liking them, in spite of the naffness.
ReplyDeleteI think I've made enough Christmas cards now but Oh dear, writing them ...
The cards are gorgeous!! I love them.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday. Some of the comments here have amused me about bloggers having things in common! I suppose we do both blog so that's something, and we are both Aries which probably counts for a lot, and we both understand Norfolk and Suffolk humour because that's where we're from.
ReplyDeleteLike I said chalk and cheese - but it's OK!
DeleteAs you say, the lights are a bit naff, but the photo cards are pretty, so good use made. It's lovely to meet up with people you meet online, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant idea. Well done. I am sure they will be much admired.
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent idea to turn the photo into cards. I'm sure they will be loved by the recipients.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to meet up with a blog-friend. I've met twice with a fellow blogger when I have visited Brixham Devon, close to where she lives. I suppose it is the modern equivalent of a meeting up with a pen-friend!
Love the cards! What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteWow lucky you meeting up with fellow bloggers. I bet it was good to put faces and personalities with the bloggers.
Next time you are in Ipswich?
DeleteCute idea!!!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Snow Country!
⛄π⛄
I love the way you are sending out cards like no-one else. It makes them so much more personal.
ReplyDeleteOne of my grandmothers would spend time during the year making her own cards and painting watercolours onto them. Each card was different. I have no idea how she found the time!
You have found your creative streak! Those cards really do look splendid.
ReplyDeleteI remember you showing the canvas picture last year and talking about making cards. It was a smart idea and the cards turned out great! Enjoy your meet up with Rachel!
ReplyDeleteI remember you planning to make cards, they've turned out brilliantly. The lights look great on the photos.
ReplyDeleteMeeting up with fellow bloggers is really good isn't it, lots to talk about from the get go and no awkward silences.
