December 6th and The Lonely Bauble

Among all my red, red/gold, gold and silver tree decorations I discovered one lonely yellow bauble. There are a few green and no blue at all but just one small and very lonely yellow bauble.

It needs a new home.

But meanwhile everything red, gold  and red/gold  has been added. I'm no minimalist when it comes to bunging things on the tree, I like it bright! 😎

I'm also not bothered that a very old set of lights are multi-coloured and the newer set are all plain warm white and I've searched but as far as I know not one bauble on this tree was bought new.

Mixed weather day yesterday, it started with a bit of brightness then thick fog rolled in for several hours which made everywhere feel very damp and cold. It didn't really go until late afternoon and by then it was too late for much sunshine, I lit the fire and settled down to watch the snooker, but still couldn't get warm and then I started sniffing and sneezing - oh B****R gone down with a cold, that explained the feeling chilly............. but a day before visitors............ Drat........I shall fight it off.........hopefully.

A man brought my Blue Ray/DVD player and connected it up. I didn't need to write down instructions for changing from DVD to TV as it's simple enough.( I have no idea what blueray is apart from another way of watching something) but the old DVD player wouldn't fit the new TV as scart leads don't exist anymore. With any luck this new stuff will "see me out"!

Back Tomorrow

    1. It didn't work - quite disappointing - thought I'd found a cure for the common cold!

  2. A hefty dose of Vitamin C usually stops mine in its tracks - hope you can bring yours to a sudden halt before the visitors arrive.
Your tree looking very festive - I feel a pang of sadness for that one lonely bauble - I would at least put it round the back of the tree lol!

  3. Awww your tree looks lovely and cosy.
Join the cold club. I have got up this morning with a rotten sore throat and a runny nose. I hope I don't have to cancel Marlowe's sleepover tomorrow.

    1. Colds are such a nuisance - I rarely get one now and when I do I puzzle over where I've been, who gave it to me and who I've accidentally passed it onto.
Hope you are OK for Marlowe

  5. Blue ray dvd’s are in effect HD rather than normal ones. More expensive but better quality.

  6. I hope you feel better and it doesn't get worse! Those grey, damp days do seem to make me feel a little yucky.

    Have a good weekend!

  8. The tree looks lovely. I have been gazing at our tree and realizing there are many empty spaces. Guess that means I need to get started on some homemade ornaments for next year.

    God bless.

  9. Sorry about your having got a cold. Perish the thought. I swear by elderberry syrup. We have a fresh tree each year and Tam is back up North for a few days, so not allowed to get it until her return (it shouldn't be bald by Christmas Day then anyway) but I may get the decorations down over the weekend.

Enjoy your guests and hopefully they won't go home with cold bugs to brew!

  10. Our Christmas Trees *should* be, as we like them to be!!! No rules! -smile-

Sorry about the cold. Rest is a necessary part of getting over such. So please don't try to do toooo much, for company coming.

  11. Gosh, put the yellow bauble on the tree! Pretend it is gold. It is very sad being left off and deemed not worthy. :-(

  12. Is it a silk thread bauble. I looked all over for them last year but couldn't find any. I think they're lovely and remind me of my Mum and Nanna's trees.

Yours looks lovely by the way. Hope you manage to fight the cold off. Enjoy the family get together. Bet the grandchildren are really excited to be visiting. xx

  13. Your tree is beautiful! I'm sure you will enjoy it in the coming days and evenings. I finally finished our tree last night. I love to relax before bed in a dark room with only the tree lights. It has a magical feel.

  14. Your tree looks lovely! Feeling a bit left out as have not put ours up yet as there's a small house renovation happening over the next few days and I didn't want dust on it. We have to put it in a darkish corner in the house as it's not getting dark down here now till later in the evening and you miss the full effect of the lights.

  15. It might need a new home. Or it might be a symbol that for all the color and glory of the season, we are our own unique selves and we stand with others, but stand strong alone, too. No matter where it goes, I know you'll find the right spot. It seems a bit special.

  16. I have a rather guilty feeling that you might have caught your cold from me, Sue. If so, I'm so sorry. I'm hoping you are managing to fight it off.
