What Was in Your Diary?

How many things in your diary have you crossed out in the last 8/9 weeks?

I've missed
First day of shutdown BiL was supposed to come and cut wood
The Surrey Family visiting at Easter and the family Egg Hunt and Easter tea
All the visits to the two Suffolk families
All the rest of the 12 week OneLifeSuffolk Weight Management course (A Lost Cause!)
Polly going to the vet for her annual flu jab
A couple of jumble sales
4 WI meetings so far
2 Library Van visits
Birthday outing
Dentist (only delaying the fear!)
Going to visit a windmill on National Mills Day
Several lots of swimming

AND lots of Car Boot Sales

And this week I was supposed to being watching the 3½ year old granddaughter  at a little ballet show.

Ho Hum!

I've ground to a halt on things to write about so I'll have a few days off to peruse my books for ideas and enjoy the warm days we are forecast to get here .

Back in a day or 3

Sue

Your list is much more interesting than mine!

    1. It's the grandchildren that is the biggest gap in the diary and even more so for you and your first one I should think

  3. The main ones for us were visits to Cornwall and the Midlands to see my siblings, husband's daughter was supposed to be coming to stay, and a couple of consultants appointments for us both, had to be done on the phone instead, which was a bit frustrating. And husband's prostate operation has been postponed until next year.

  5. Dental appointment, hair cut, meeting with friends in Derbyshire early April, a short break for wedding anniversary end of April and a birthday get together with other friends over the last weekend - we zoomed for a chat and birthday wishes. It is hard to know what to write about at the moment, I creeping up to a halt too:)

    1. I shall resort to Saints from the Saints book and garden pictures I think

  6. Grand-daughters third birthday party, grandparents 'duties' two days a week, mother's day meal at our daughters, chiropodist, dentist, optician and mobile hairdresser appointments shopping with husband, mooching around our garden centre for craft stuff (on-line isn't the same).

Blogging is like having a full time job isn't it? Have a relaxing and enjoyable time off.

  7. Many courses, one holiday, and visits to the hairdressers.

  8. Certainly like Rachel - the hairdresser! Otherwise, with almost daily Zoom visits with various friends, I have missed very little, just adapted.

  9. Mine include: putting our house on the market, living in the Van, 2 hairdressers appointments (I have a blonde mop that is about to be dyed back to it's natural brown), walking with the dogs, the sea, seeing my Mum every Wednesday in Manchester and selling at the first 2 car boot sales of the year to empty out our shed ready for moving.

But I've gained too: time to slow things down, growing in the net tunnel for the last time here in Wales and lazy afternoon movie watching ... oh and 4 pounds in weight :-)

    1. Getting the house on the market must be the most frustrating and with so many houses for sale in Wales already, you needed people to see it in summer.Perhaps Wales will be unlocked soon

    2. We've just heard from our estate agent, seemingly things could be moving again in 2-3 weeks here in Wales. Estate agents are back at work in some parts of England already, my son who was in the process of buying a house told me last week.

Luckily with the intervening few weeks since the photos were taken and lots more work by us the place is looking even better now. We viewed it ourselves when it was green and lush back in July of 2013 so it could be about to happen the same way again :-)

  11. I can't imagine when swimming pools will open again, nor being very keen to go when they do. The cycling substitute might become permanent. Don't really fancy it much in winter, but then it's not very appealing going to the pool some days. Will have to make the effort just the same.

    1. I will be glad to get back to swimming, the pool is always quiet and low risk here in Suffolk

.Missed dinner and the final play of our subscription seasons with my theatre group
.Missed my hairdresser (although doing better than most - just had to trim the bangs)
.Missed my Saturday language class & lunch afterwards with friends
.Missed my monthly social club meetings & outings
.Will miss my BF's birthday tomorrow!

  15. Today I would have been at Hava Java - coffee social with friends. Tomorrow would have been tennis in the morning and Bridge in the afternoon. We are having a Zoom meetup instead of Bridge.

  16. We've missed a few things over the weeks as well. Nothing of any great importance but in a way it's just the normal weekly things we normally do that have hit home most.

Enjoy the blogging break and the good weather. I'm sure you'll come back refreshed and full of things to write about again. xx

  18. We've missed quite a few things, for me the worse one was we were due to go down to Wales for the week to see no. 1 son, I know he is ok as he phones about twice a week and we chat for about an hour, but as you say not quite the same. Hubby had his birthday in lockdown and we were due visitors, his mum etc. Visiting my cousin, we only got back to seeing each other last year, through me doing our family tree, she has lived in the same street as she lived as a child, I just didn't know she was still there. Thankfully hubby still has his hospital appointment each month for his injection, which we are grateful for. Helen S.

  20. First time commenting! So far we have missed a family celebration for my husband's 70th birthday, and also his "big birthday" gift - a once in a lifetime holiday cruising the Norwegian fjords! Also celebrating St. Patrick's Day, Mother's Day, Easter, my birthday and our daughter's birthday. But the worst of all is missing our grandchildren. Roll on 8th June when we will be allowed travel 20km to visit them - socially distancing of course!

  24. A hair do...hubby’s birthday celebrations with the family...family get together for Easter. Lots of training...Son’s birthday when he was due to visit with his girlfriend...lambing at sister in laws...kittens...same household...daughters house move held up...and still is...oodles if cuddles with the grandchildren. Getting paint for the house...needs mixing...life really has had the meaning sucked out of it by the virus and our response to it. x
