I was going to put up the post about my Suffolk Show visit last week but instead here's some bits of the Pageant.
What a fantastic weekend of celebrations we had here in the UK. Home was the best place to be on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon to be able to see on TV the Huge Jubilee concert and then the amazing Pageant. It reminded me of the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics - a bit of everything British and the Commonwealth and so very colourful.
I took a few photos from the TV in case you weren't one of the 1 BILLION people watching around the world.
I think it was a very long afternoon for the 3 Cambridge children, who were obviously enjoying some of the 3K long procession but looked a bit fed up at times!
Suffolk's own Ed Sheeran closed the Pageant
The Royals singing The National Anthem
Buckingham Palace
Four Generations and 3 future kings
The party of a lifetime and I loved watching it all and I can't have been the only person to have been in tears by the end.
And if you didn't see and haven't heard about The Queen and Paddington Bear - just do a You Tube search - it will really make you smile.
Tomorrow I really will post about my Suffolk Show visit
Sue
What a weekend it has been. I was glued to the tv watching it all.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the second half of the concert, more our style. Pageant was great, made us smile.
ReplyDeleteThe carnival cart with the tower guards was created in my home town of Bridgwater, Somerset, it was so good to see their creative work in the parade. They have a carnival every November where a new creation is made, they are very professional builders.
ReplyDeleteYup, we sat through this and really enjoyed it as well!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the photos, I had never thought about taking a photo from the TV!! I am still catching up with the programmes I missed during the days I had visitors and watching/listening to the French Open finals and cricket. It all looked wonderful and as you I did have tears in my eyes at the end. I enjoyed the Paddington Bear bit too and the reaction of the young Cambridges too.
ReplyDeleteWe do know how to put on a 'Royal' show, don't we?
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea and great way to share it with everyone. I watched a good bit of the Pageant yesterday (until the Noughties which coincided with racing starting!) Missed Trooping the Colour entirely, but caught bits and pieces of everything. WISH I could have driven out in search of a Beacon or two in the distance, but kept Keith company instead.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, when we do Pageantry, we do it WELL.
Congratulations to our Amazing Queen - 70 years serving us and having to turn up pretty well daily when required at events interesting and not so, to make small talk and nibble at banquets, when all she probably wanted to do was sit down and watch the racing like me!!
It was the perfect end to a wonderful weekend of celebration. X
ReplyDeleteThe Paddington and the Queen video was fabulous. The pageant was equally fantastic, especially the wonderful giant puppets, the dinosaur and the buses.
ReplyDeleteNice to see the royal children acting like children everywhere, enjoying it but at times, very bored!!
Yes so nice...I've seen The Queen and Paddington Bear and other videos...unfortunately I couldn't see the original show...so thanks for your screenshots.
ReplyDeleteIt was my great pleasure. Thanks.
Greetings to you.
Loved it all.
ReplyDeleteWasn't it great! I still have the pageant to catch but, so far, the highlight is Paddington and the Queen - just so lovely! I thought the children were brilliant. xx
ReplyDeleteI thought the Pageant was amazing and really enjoyed it. Didn't the Queen looks absolutely lovely, as always. The vibrant colour of her outfit suited her and the occasion so well, don't you think? I loved it all :)
ReplyDeleteI just got to see a little bit of it but I did see the Paddington Bear video and thought it was so sweet! Your Queen is such a wonderful, steady leader and she has served well all of these years for you.
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful wasn't it. I thought Ed Sheeran's song and the accompanying photos and films of the Queen timed to go with it were a wonderful way to close the weekend of celebrations. And lovely to see her Majesty and our future Kings on the balcony right at the end.
ReplyDeleteI watched on TV as well as YouTube and the Jubilee was absolutely, positively marvelous. I loved everything about it. The pageantry and every detail so beautifully executed was impressive. HM The Queen is an amazing woman and she looked delighted with the celebrations as was everyone.
ReplyDeleteThey showed an edited version of the concert here but not the pageant and that's what I really wanted to see. So thanks for sharing the wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteI did see the video of Her Royal Highness with Paddington Bear... absolutely wonderful. What a beautiful week for the Queen. She so deserved it all and more. God bless her! ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteI loved HM with Paddington and there was a lovely intimate shot of Prince Charles with one of the Cambridge children on his lap - think it was probably Louis.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for all the comments above - I haven't heard of anyone who didn't enjoy the celebrations - so colourful and special
ReplyDeleteI saw the queen with Paddington very sweet. What a wonderful celebration for her I just wish she could have been well enough to really enjoy it.

It was an amazing celebration - just spectacular! Loved the bit with Paddington and so pleased that her majesty made it onto the balcony at the end - although I didn't really doubt that she'd make - just remarkable!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful celebration.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
We needed a good celebration.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have such a wonderful head of state. Her Majesty is truly amazing. And the celebration was very special, I think a ceremony like "Trooping the colour", with all this incredible precision, would not be possible in any other country.
