Firstly I must say thank you for comments over the last couple of days and, as usual, apologies for not commenting elsewhere - time keeps running away from me.
Forgot to walk up the road and take photos in Mid June so I've missed all the dog-roses which had all finished with rose-hips beginning to form. Then I forgot to zoom in to see the village from the top of the hill like I did last time.....which, along with a few pictures of the wild things, was the whole point of the label "View Over The Village!"
Some of the photos are not so good - my camera doesn't like too bright sunshine on auto setting.
This is from halfway up the hill over the wheat field on a lovely sunny Monday morning
The wheat is just beginning to change colour
Blackberry flowers are starting to appear
The field of Sugarbeet is coming along nicely
Large White Butterfly on Bindweed flower
Huge bramble patch looks like a good place for picking blackberries later
Elderberries are beginning to form
Field Beans look as if they have been decimated by pigeons or rabbits
.
Then I went home for a coffee
I'll try and remember to take photos in Mid July
I noticed the elderberries and blackberry flowers just yesterday. Time is marching on. X
ReplyDeleteJuly on Friday - somehow!
DeleteSometimes I really wish I lived in a village and when I see you village photos, they make me feel . . . wistful, I suppose. It's a good feeling, thank you. xx
ReplyDeleteYou could do a view over the city! It would be interesting for me as I don't know Chelmsford at all
DeleteIt looks lovely. No wheat hereabouts, but as we are higher and cooler, the Elder is still in flower here - no berries yet. However, LOTS of blackberries flowering. Should be a good year for them. I know where to pick them this year too.
ReplyDeleteHope there will be some blackberries although often it's too dry and they come to nothing
DeleteYour village appears to be quite low-lying.
ReplyDeleteSomething I miss from Wales and owning our own land is walking around the paddock watching the blackberries slowly appearing over the course of a couple of months and seeing nature close up.
pretty pictures it is so nice to see things growing and blooming.

We need a bit of rain really - but preferably only at night!
DeleteAh yes sugar beet we remember that living in Leiston, none here, but a lot of sheep, rape seed and a new crop of sweet corn.
ReplyDeleteNot so much oil seed rape around this village this year but there probably will be next year
DeleteBeautiful productive fields. You live in wonderful surroundings with great views everywhere. Thank you for sharing these photos.
ReplyDeleteI must try and remember to do this properly each month
DeleteTime really does seem to speed up as we get older!
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
The days have flown by again - even when I don't do much
Delete2022 half over already! Yikes! It's nice to have fields so near your home. Seems like you have the best of both worlds - towns for shopping and country for views!
ReplyDeleteNot such good views as there is in the hilly areas of the west of England and Wales - but very green at the moment
DeleteLovely views of crops - my farmer would have loved them Sue. Wild roses only just coming into bloom here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing photos. It's all looking very green!
ReplyDeleteI had elderberry bushes in my yard. My dad said they grew best by the outhouse, but mine were along the fence.
ReplyDeleteI remember my grandmother taking me on nature walks like this, pointing out all the insects and what was flowering, fruiting etc. Happy memories :)
