When we had my home made veggie/nut burgers the other week, Col said "any sweetcorn relish?"
There wasn't, but now there is.
This is a variation of piccalilli, using a tin of sweetcorn and red, green and chili peppers from the greenhouse. The recipe is on the separate recipe page - scroll down nearly to the end.
By the way, I've not forgotten about putting the veggie burger recipe on the blog but I want to try it just one more time and get a bit more flavour ooommmph into them.

Mmmm love it with hard cheese, in fact any cheese at all!
ReplyDeleteThat is on my list for this afternoon, I made it ages ago and the last jar was eaten recently. I had forgotten where the recipe came from, it is now printed and filed.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had sweeetcorn relish in years!
ReplyDeleteDo you toast the nuts for your nutburgers? Makes a huge difference if your flavours aren't punchy enough. Look forward to seeing them.
My hubby loves sweet relishes, but I have never made it using sweet corn. Something we must try!
ReplyDeleteThat looks good. I opened a jar of my chilli and apple chutney today, amazing!
ReplyDeleteWe've just started eating last years Tomato and Fruit Chutney, it's bloody delicious after maturing in the dark cupboard for a year. I'll print out your Sweetcorn Relish recipe, it's something I haven't made before and Alan loves sweetcorn.
ReplyDeleteI made runner bean chutney a couple of years ago but it tasted bitter. I used to make a nice tomato based pickle - think it's about time I tried again

I came over from A Life In Wales and am intrigued by your Sweet Corn Relish. Can I get the recipe> I can't find your recipe page ( 8-( )
ReplyDeleteIt's at the top of the blog on the 'Recipes from a Suffolk Kitchen' page. Just under the post-box in the blog header photo. Once there you need to scroll down the recipe page to get to it.
DeleteThank you! That's a treasure trove of good things. I'll just have to convert to US measures and go forth.
