IF

I hope I've not moaned too much in blogland about the silly delays in this house move. Have to look at it this way.................................

IF

I hadn't decided to sell at all I could have stayed at the cottage and spent many thousands of £'s on a new sewer system within the next year, probably a new boiler very soon, contributed to resurfacing the lane again and heavens knows what it would have cost if the water main up the lane had needed replacing.

IF

I hadn't decided to move out to rent to make sure I didn't lose my purchasers (who had offered more than I was expecting to sell for) I could have still been living in among all the boxes waiting for exchange and completion and being nagged by them to hurry up and risking all or any of the above, which might have happened and put them off buying or made them reduce their offer.

IF

I'd not gone to look at the site of the new-build in my Son's village (which was my original idea) I wouldn't have known about the huge trees at the back and the shade over all the garden and I'd have still been renting somewhere anyway as those houses are still not finished. Plus I'm not sure I'd have enjoyed living on the edge of a new estate with all the traffic for 70+ houses going by everyday and a village that is increasing in size by the minute.

IF

I'd have known about the delays involved due to the Equity Release company's loan on the bungalow, I still would have gone ahead as the bungalow will suit me fine and other things that are for sale are either too big/small/expensive.

and of course IF Colin hadn't got ill and  died we might still be at the smallholding!

 Who knows?

That word IF is a funny ol' word.

and finally IF all goes to plan then bungalow purchase will complete next week. At last!

  4. I hope it all finally goes through next week. You've been a lot more patient than I would have been! It was obviously meant to be - as it would seem it was here, we waited 10 years and the woman selling this had been on and off the market for 20 (but turning down full-price buyers, silly woman).

  10. You have like myself a very positive attitude to life which is good (not like some people, I know' not everyone is alike but it helps to look on the bright side of life).
The sun is shinning and it will get warmer.
Hope you have something to look forward to the weekend.

  11. That answers my question a few days ago. As Rachel says after making a decision you must stick to it and not dither about. You know the saying - If ifs and ands were pots and pans there'd be no work for tinkers. You have coped well with your nomadic life and each day is a day closer to finally being settled.

  13. It's good to remind yourself of the reasons you chose to move and know that, despite the delays, they're all really good reasons. My fingers are tightly crossed that the sale will complete next week and then you have all those boxes to unpack. I don't know about anybody else but that's the bit I like best about moving! ๐Ÿ™‚

  21. At least your house was sold and for a better price than you thought. Even if you have had to move around while waiting for the bungalow, hopefully you will get your new home soon. My daughter is having to move into her ex sister in laws 2 bed annex at the end of the month as their house sale is hopefully completing at the end of the month, they are in a chain.
    Fingers crossed for you.

  24. I remember reading something by William Shatner the Star Wars actor, who I think is probably now in his 70+'s and has had a very diverse career. He wrote that he never says no to new paths, he always follows them and enjoys seeing where they will lead. Good wishes on your new location. I've enjoyed hearing about your temporary digs.

  26. Hope the move goes well and you're soon settled in your new home. If is a funny word. I was journaling a few days ago and found myself thinking and writing about decisions I would make, If.

  27. Crossing fingers and saying a little prayer, Sue. It sure has been an adventure!

  28. IF

You hadn't taken this path in selling and buying you wouldn't have had this little nomadic adventure before settling down into your new life ... and you would have missed out on holiday home life and van life.

    IF

I hadn't popped over to read your post today I wouldn't have the word IF rattling round in my head in great big letters ;-)

Have a good weekend, and we ALL have our fingers crossed for you for next week. xx

  29. IF post good. IF:Bungelow. Yes Lord open it up soon for Sue to move into next week. A reason YOU want her to have it.
I know housing isn't cheap any more. Thankfully we have got our mortgage paid off a couple years ago.

  30. If...I've often thought of 'if'. In the end, 'is' seems to be the word that matters.

Good luck on next week. I'm sure we will all be waiting to hear the news...and see the pictures!

  31. "If" can do a number on your head but I like the last "if" best and hope it all works out for next week.

  32. "if I had done this" is far more positive than "if only I hadn't done that" We're all cheering you on.

  33. IF... you hadn't been so positive, you would have sunk into despair over this house move. I hope everything goes smoothly next week. xx

  34. Sue I am so happy for you! All of your "ifs" make perfect sense. You are a wise person and have handled the sometimes difficult situation well. You have also taught many of us what it is to be patient. I believe all your planning, hard work and patience will pay off big for you!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Fingers crossed for you Sue. Your patience and positive attitude is admirable. Good luck.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Wow! You computed all those "IF" questions exactly right. The end is in sight and you will be in your new home soon.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hopefully the rest of it will go smoothly and you'll soon be in your new home. I think there's probably a saying about 'ifs' but for the life of me I can't think of what it is!

  38. Next week - at last, puts all those ifs to rest, I would think. Good luck with the move. All good things come to those who wait.

  39. Hi everyone, I saw comments from people who had already got their loan from Anderson Loan Finance. Honestly, I thought it was a scam, and then I decided to make a request based on their recommendations. A few days ago, I confirmed in my personal bank account amounting to $15,000 dollars which I applied for. This is really a good news and I am so very happy that I advise all those who need a real loan and who are sure to reimburse to apply through their email (text or call) +1 719 629 0982.
