I looked in my box of things to display on the bookshelves and found a distinct lack of Spring! All I had was the little Beswick Blue Tit which came from a boot-sale last year sometime. Searched through old posts with the Seasonal Display label - and found one with bits and bobs for Easter, which I still have but Easter is late this year, so too soon to get them out. So either I didn't have much for spring or I forgot to photograph or label the post, and whatever I did have went to a charity shop in the pre-move clear out.
I thought it would be good to have flowers through Spring so bought a couple of bunches of daffodils for 50p each from the last car boot sale. Then had a bit of luck in the RSPCA charity shop in Stowmarket and spotted the pretty plate fixed up on the wall for £3.
And, along with my Hare which I've had for several years, a little bit of Spring is now on the bookshelves. Still in the box to come out will be the April (Diary of an Edwardian lady) plate and then the Easter things.
I love seeing your seasonal displays! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Maybe just a small group but looks really cheery
DeleteI never think to display or rearrange the things on my mantle shelf, it stays the same all year round....well, other than a few Christmas things. I might take a leaf out of your book....
ReplyDeleteIt was someone in blogland that used to do it that gave me the idea + having more time to fiddle about!
Delete(wonder who it was as haven't seen a seasonal display on any other blog lately)
A pretty display, Easter is on its way?
ReplyDeletePlans are being made - two birthdays involved!
DeleteA lovely display Sue. I was given a double bunch of daffs last week, always a delight to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteYesterday truly felt spring like (we had sunshine) but then frost overnight!
I kept looking at the poor £1 bunches in Aldi/Asda and leaving them but when I found them for 50p at the car boot sale they had to come home
DeleteI love your seasonal book shelves. Just bought my first bunch of daffodils.
ReplyDeleteI need to plant some more bulbs in Autumn so I've got some of my own
DeleteThat plate is beautiful. What a great find.
ReplyDeleteIt was on the wall quite high up behind a lamp on a shelf so I was pleased to spot it. Just right I thought
DeletePersonally i'm in love with that hare! x
ReplyDeleteHe looks good whatever the season!
DeleteA lovely display - the weather here is still cold but there are some very welcome signs of spring emerging and plenty of cheap daffs in the shops to brighten up our homes.
ReplyDeleteThere is a really good weather forecast here after tomorrow - a week of sun - sounds lovley
DeleteI love the hare, one of my favourite animals. The prints on the wall are lovely, are they both by the same artist?
ReplyDeleteYes the lino-cut prints are by a localish artist called Deborah Key. I got them from an art exhibition a few years ago
Deletesuch a lovely tribute to spring. I haven't taken anything out at this point since putting Christmas away. I am trying to keep up with the dust. We are still cold and all closed in.
ReplyDeleteCathy
It cheers me up to see my little display
DeleteI have a bunny along with some silk yellow tulips out for my Spring display. I also have a green shamrock out since I have a bit of Irish in my family background so I decorate a little for St. Patrick's Day (3/17). It's fun to celebrate year round with touches of the seasons and holidays!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to change things round a little
DeleteThose daffodils are so darned charming -- they make me smile big!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your recent visit to my blog. It's always lovely to see you!
I like to see your brilliant paintings
DeleteSuch a pretty display. The daffs are delightful. xx
ReplyDeleteLovely sunny splash of colour
DeleteThat is such a cheerful display!
ReplyDeleteOnly a few things but they look good I think
DeleteMy granddaughter has set up an 'Easter ' display on my dining table, front door etc. It's a bit early but an enthusiastic eight year old is hard to resist! No daffs here as it's autumn but the dahlias are gorgeous at this time.I haven't much space to grow them but can get them from a nearby farm gate stall.
ReplyDeleteVery right about an enthusiastic 8 year old - nice to see them interested
DeleteMy mother used to have a little bird similar to yours and I always wondered what it was. I have no idea what happened to it!
ReplyDeleteYour daffodils make a very pretty display of spring colour :)
Beswick are a company who make all sorts of bird and animal models like this. I was pleased to find it last year
DeleteA lovely vignette.
ReplyDeleteVery cheery I think
DeleteSpring daffodils are so cheerful and bright. Your hare, small bird, plate and daffodils make a very pretty display.
ReplyDeleteI'm very pleased with how they look
DeleteThe daffodils are perfect for spring and the display you have is lovely.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you
DeleteIt does look very spring-y!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to more spring outside later this week... a good weather forecast
DeleteThat is a lovely seasonal display. I have a hare that sits out all year round too.
ReplyDeleteA Hare is not just for March!
