Yep, a few weeks ago another half-box of posh Christmas Crackers was added to the cupboard and 2 more pretty cards added to the card box.
I've been looking for a cheap but decent lampshade for the dressing area of the bedroom ever since the en-suite was altered last year and the little wooden pot is hand-turned sycamore (there's a label on the base) and just appealed.
Total spend £2.70 - and then I went home for breakfast.
Back Tomorrow

I do like those crackers. I always think there's something particularly festive about red tartan.

I've now got three part boxes and none matching - but the grandchildren won't mind that!
DeleteI save our "leftover" crackers and then every couple of years we do a mixed cracker Christmas. I tend to stick to holly and ivy or red tartans, so they mix and match well.
DeleteI do miss going to car boot sales. The ones that used to be held locally seem to have gone on-line during Covid and never returned to real life . . . My nearest car boot sale - apart from the monthly one at Clyro which always seems to clash with something else happening, is nearly in Hereford! 30+ miles away, and never much there anyway.
ReplyDeleteI suppose we have car boots rather than antique fairs - none of those anywhere close
DeleteBargains before breakfast - it could be a new reality show!
ReplyDeleteI should copyright the title just in case!
DeleteThat pot is lovely - I love the feel of turned wood. So much nicer than plastic!
ReplyDeleteThis probably cost a lot when it was originally sold but for £1 it had to be done - to add to my shelves
DeleteYou've got to get them when you see them regardless of the time of year. I love tartan anyway, but red tartan IS Christmas, just as Joy said. Happy hunting!
ReplyDeleteThere have been several boot sales recently when I've found nothing at all - but it's still a good walk round
Deleteoh, how I agree Red tartan is Christmas!
DeleteGreat little finds. I love the little pot too. Everything is useful. My kind of car boot shopping.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I find nothing and other days I find treasure!
DeleteDo you fill the crackers with candy? or are they already filled? I've never seen them used.
ReplyDeleteThey have a snap, a riddle or joke, a paper crown and a small gift - usually something no one wants!
DeleteI have found leftover Christmas crackers make great little fillers in Christmas hampers
ReplyDeleteYes I've done that in previous years but now with the grandchildren there is always a use for them
DeleteSome good purchases there, I wouldn't have been able to resist that little wooden pot for just £1 either.
ReplyDeleteSomething I didn't need at all really!
DeleteYou've got some very nice useful items. Part of the fun of the car boot sales is never knowing what you will see but usually finding something useful at a great price.
ReplyDeleteThere have been a few visits where nothing has been found at all
DeleteAnd all that before breakfast.
ReplyDeleteAn early morning walk beating the crowds and grabbing the bargains - sometimes.
DeletePS; That was me. Not sure why I posted as anonymous.
DeleteDo you have a box you keep Christmas bits in? I discovered that I have enough Christmas bags and boxes to last me for a couple of years. Apparently, I put them somewhere 'safe' and forgot about them. When (ha ha) I do get organised I'm thinking a Christmas box is the way to go. Maybe someday lol.
ReplyDeleteNice finds!
That is a lovely pot.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
