Just five things from the Saturday boot-sale. First a Gi-normous cauliflower which will last me all week or even longer - that was £1, the Pyrex jug is for Son who asked me to look out for one that still had it's measurement markings on it. That was also £1. Finally there's a 2012 commemorative £5 coin - I paid £2. It came out of one of the house clearance boxes so maybe hadn't been noticed as being worth £5 or maybe it isn't anyway.
According to googling it should be accepted at some banks and post-offices. I have a couple of commemorative £2 coins dating back to a royal wedding or something - I'll look them out and see who'll accept them.
The only other thing bought were two female cucumber plants (£2 each) so I have a couple well ahead of my own, which still haven't germinated.
Back Soon
Pyrex is always a good buy. I have a 2pt jug which is a lovely size, but has list all it's markings.
ReplyDeleteSon can choose now between this bigger jug or a normal 1 pint one from my cupboard
DeleteGreat buy of the cauliflower and the jug!! Catriona
ReplyDeleteMassive cauli - I've started so I'll finish - I hope!

I don't think I've ever bought one new -they're always at boot sales
DeleteI need one of those Pyrex measuring cups. Both of the ones I have lost their markings except when held under careful lighting.
ReplyDeleteI have one that's almost faded and another that hasn't
DeleteYou do manage to find great buys!
ReplyDeleteTreasures among the trash!
DeleteGreat finds. Our cucumber plants haven't germinated either, although the tomato seeds did. We bought 2 lovely cucumber plants from The Range.
ReplyDeleteMy tomato plants in the greenhouse are looking a bit sad after a cold night might end up having to buy some - very annoying
DeleteThe car boot sales are well worth the visit. Bargains galore!
ReplyDeleteGiven your success, your son might start giving you a little list of purchases for his home. The Pyrex jug looks new. The cauliflower looks fresh from the garden.
Son and DiL like going to boot sales too but the children always want to buy everything!
DeleteNow that is one very large cauliflower.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Wow, great price on the Cauli. They are so expensive over here!
ReplyDeleteNice to have a look around and find a few bits.
