I got through the day by keeping busy as usual and watching the Remembrance service on TV. I made a Christmas cake in the morning because the kitchen man is coming back to do some more of the new units so I might be kitchen-less for a while and in the afternoon Col's brother came round and fixed the lock on the garage door. I'd managed to get the old broken yale lock off but couldn't get the new one on. There's been some reports of theft in the village recently so it needed doing and he'd promised to get over in daylight sometime. Sunday evening was Dr Who and Strictly.
Saturday's post was lots of writing and no photos, so to put that right here are a few photos from the last few weeks without much writing.

Glad you got through the day. You take such lovely photos, Sue...grandchildren are very photogenic though! Blogland is wonderful, I've found it so, and you've helped countless others with your courage and honest pragmatic posts. I like and use your recipes, too, so thank you for that.
ReplyDeleteThose girls are beautiful and I love Florence's curly hair! Isn't it wonderful to get together with them! You are giving them the greatest gift in your love of books and they are following in your footsteps.
ReplyDeleteBless you, Sue. Your honesty and love shine through every post. Your grandchildren are clearly a joy and a blessing.
ReplyDeleteLovely grandchildren!,Its lovely when they are that age cause they grow up so fast. One of my grandaughters is 17 at the end of the month and she will be starting driving lessons....Im worried already!...I wanted her to stay 3 forever, lol.Thata a great photo of you with them!.xx
ReplyDeleteGrandchildren bring us such joy, your girls are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you for continuing to write your blog - I love to read your posts first thing every morning now I am not at work - whether they are funny, sad or informative you always tell it as it is which makes it a compelling read.
ReplyDeleteI love that head of curls we thought little L was going to have curls at one time but no, it is as straight as her mums now!
Grandchildren are so special aren't they?
ReplyDeleteIn my experience there is an undefinable bond which means that they are immediately
small beings that you'd protect with all your strength.
Yours look great fun and with their own personalities showing through already.
I take it that Willow's broccoli had been deposited on the floor!
Seeing you with the girls and a book reminds me to ask, ( I can't remember), whether you are reading the Shardlake series by C J Sansom?
His latest, Tombland, is set round Norwich.
Sue
I'm on a waiting list for it at the library but that will give me time(possibly) to re read the last in the series to remember the story - a long gap between his books. Just looked on library site - I'm 20 out of 332!! ( but it looks as if they've recently bought lots more copies so maybe quite quick)
DeleteGreat photo of you and grands. So glad you had a lovely afternoon with them. Florence's hair matches my granddaughter, Nora's (about the same age)--a veritable halo of curls. Willow is charmer. Imagine she is keeping your daughter on her toes (or is it knees, trying to clean up the floor after her?). :)
ReplyDeleteFlorence and Willow are beautiful little girls. Grandchildren are wonderful aren't they?
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely week.
Lovely photos especially of you and your grandaughters. Glad the lock is fixed as it seems to be the season for burglary-quite a few round our way too. Exciting news about the kitchen and I’ll look forward to seeing the photos. Your blog header photo is beautiful- nothing beats nature in the beauty stakes.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of your granddaughters they must give you so much joy.

ReplyDeleteThe girls are so cute! My son and daughter have 3 boys between them. They are cute too and very energetic.
ReplyDeleteMy Grandson is down in Surrey so don't get to see him so much. He is 2½ and mad about cars
DeleteI keep an eye out for you when I mooch around Leiston in case I see you! I hope if I do, you'll have time to stop for a coffee at Simply Delicious?
ReplyDeleteI'm usually just at daughters when I'm in Leiston nowadays, sometimes I zoom round the charity shops
DeleteWhat a lovely photo of you and your granddaughters :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely pics. I've not read much blogs lately. I rarely have time but just stopping in this morning. I'm so sorry for your loss. And sending big hugs. I see it has been 6 months. So glad to see you had some children and beautiful nature - all signs of God's wonders. God will help keep you from being lonely. Prayers going in for you. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of you and your granddaughters! They are growing so quickly. I'm glad Col's brother was able to come over and help you. It's good to have family around.
ReplyDeletelovely photo of your and the grand girls.
ReplyDeleteI missed your post yesterday until today. I understand when you say sometimes it feels like 6 days and other times 6 years. On Saturday it will a year since I lost my mom. She was my best friend. I read your blog, Sue, in part because you inspire me to move on with life and not just hibernate. Love to you from Florida.
ReplyDeleteKeep it up Sue.
ReplyDeleteLovely wee girls. All 3 of you!
ReplyDeleteYou are blessed with beautiful Grandaughters. Glad you were able to get some help with the lock, so sad that nothing is safe and thieves are about.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful pictures from the kestrels to the beautiful foliage. The icing on the cake are the very special little girls, so fortunate to have them so close.
ReplyDeleteAs Sooze so rightly said, your posts on this journey have helped others I am sure of that. Your courage and matter of fact approach to life is such an good example to us all.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing, all your recipes ideas and your lovely photos.
Such a nice one of you and your granddaughters.
Seeing Florence's curly hair reminded me of something. Apparently when I was a little girl my hair was curly. As I grew up it straightened and that is how I thought it would always be. When I went through menopause, it became curly again. Who knew... can't explain it.
Well done Sue, very best wishes.

Some great photos, Sue. I love those with the grandchildren. Willow doesn't look too impressed with broccoli - I can't blame her. Not one of my favourite veggies.
