Me? the person who used to be a Christmas Grump, buying a Christmas cushion............ .................impossible!
But it's true
How many times have I scoffed at all the special Christmas furnishings?
You'll have guessed where it came from.
Yes, you're right of course
A Car boot sale, obviously
For £1
The cover needs a wash but it zips off so that's OK.
Oh dear, looks like I've succumbed to all the Christmas hype and the buying frenzy!
Back Tomorrow
Sue
Ah, Sue. We'll never make a real grump out of you!
ReplyDeleteMy Christmas Grump has left the building!
DeleteGood!
DeleteSteady on Sue, you've started something there! Lol
ReplyDeleteLove the cushion.
I hope not - can't have any more sneaking in!
DeleteI love it! You deserve things that you like and make you feel good. And you certainly didn't spend too much on it, so enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt looks good on a deep red armchair - even though half of me thinks I'm nuts!
DeleteBut it could be viewed as a multipurpose buy. This year a cushion in your home, next year converted into 2 or 3 Xmas gift bags....
ReplyDeleteIt's not as big as it looks in the photo so I think it will stay as a cushion for a while
DeleteOoh! I love it. What a lucky find. X
ReplyDeleteIts a nice linen cover an the cushion inside was good and clean too so worth the 'Big'spend
DeleteYou'll be rushing out for a festive duvet cover next!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the cushion - it is rather nice and a good find.
If I do rush off for a duvet cover you have permission to declare me mad!!!
DeleteIt’s lovely ....and a ‘billy bargain ‘for a pound xx
ReplyDeleteI could spare a £1 for Christmas!
DeleteEven though it was only £1, yes, I think you are mad.
ReplyDeleteOh Good, I knew you would and you're probably right!
DeleteI don't think you are at all mad, especially at that price. It gives me great delight to pull out all the Christmas stuff every year and sort a feel a connection with Christmasses past (my past).
ReplyDelete(and yes, I have a festive duvet cover - well, a red and green tartan one anyway, soft and cosy brushed cotton, that only comes out at Christmas)
Bonkers? Well, maybe, but it's fun!
Could you make another cover so it can be used all year round?
xx
I'll just pop it in the airing cupboard as I've got several other cushions.
DeleteWhat a great find, I loved it and such a bargain. A crazy buy now and again does you good.
ReplyDeleteA £1 crazy buy is not too bad
DeleteI think it is wonderful that you are able to make the odd new tradition and I love the cushion.
ReplyDeleteChristmas is so insistent commercially that one can't ignore it.
I have tended to be a grump in the past about all the hype. Result has been leaving everything to the last minute which as I cook cake, mince pies, sausage rolls, etc etc from scratch becomes a nightmare, to say nothing of cards, presents, decorations etc.
This year I’ve vowed to be different!
You will help your whole family enormously by embracing Christmas and some of your grandchildren will be old enough to entertain you all!
There will be sad times too and I, for one, will be thinking of you and admiring your bravery.
Sue
I used to enjoy Christmas when the children were small and then lost the fun a bit, but now with grandchildren I shall enjoy it again
DeleteI love the cushion and it will be a smile to your face when you walk in and see it on your red chair.i feel like a grump nect to my friend who has had her Christmas tree up since 6th November! I kid you not. X
ReplyDeleteGoodness Nov 6th does seem a bit early, even earlier than the shops
DeleteIt's a very nice cushion and who could resist for a pound.
ReplyDeleteHugs-x-
That's what I thought
DeleteLove it! Very tasteful and not garish which is good in my book!
ReplyDeleteI like the design and material
DeleteLook, we know you, know that you like car boot sales, and find many bargains. And that cushion doesn't look particularly Christmassy to me, so no you are not mad.
ReplyDeleteYou should see my garden, adorned with baubles and tinsel, from a car boot sale, and I don't do Christmas. I intend leaving it all there until I start hedge trimming in the spring.
I know I'm not mad too. Tinsel in the garden would be off and away with the wind today - it is so rough out there
DeleteI agree with Joy - you could make a cover to pop over it for 50 or so weeks of the year,.
ReplyDeleteThen - - ta-da - out cones the Chrustmas cushion, which your grandchildren will be glad to recognise every year!
I shall a Ta Da from the airing cupboard every year!
Delete(I'm going to visit our friends in their new home next month - if I can find it!)
That looks like it could be ideal tucked into the small of the back in the armchair.
ReplyDeleteIt's exactly the right size for that
DeleteOne whole pound? You spoil yourself - and so you should! Nothing wrong with a little bit of cheer.
ReplyDeleteNot too extravagant is it
DeleteYou woz robbed; I'd only have paid 99p.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to haggle it down to 99p!
Deleteoh that is pretty! love it for £1!
ReplyDeleteA good bargain I think
DeleteI love your cushion and I know Colin would be pleased you are making the best of things.
ReplyDeleteMore rain here so pleased it's not snow at least you can get.

Since I posted this the sun has come out and I am going to to my walk.
DeleteHazel c uk
Luckily he never worried about my car boot bargains as I only bought useful..........or books!
DeleteYou could always call it a 'winter cushion' as the design isn't over the top Christmassy (is that a word?) - a great find at only a pound and perfect for a red chair.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very good on the chair
DeleteI'm the same, Sue! I don't go in for stuff which is only for Christmas ... but this is lovely, even I would've been tempted (and then bought a book instead, ha ha!) Seriously, it's really pretty and I would've bought it!
ReplyDeleteMargaret P
Haven't found many books at car boot sales at all this year - except for the grandchildren - plenty for them
DeleteI love it. As its different. Definitely NOT Christmas tat.
ReplyDeleteThe cover is linen so washed up well and looks very good
DeleteIt's really pretty. I don't do a lot of Christmas decorating now that the kids are all grown up. Not really feeling it this year. It's the first year daughter won't be here for Christmas. Middle son will probably have to work too.
ReplyDeleteI shall have the tree, cards and the mantel-piece, that will do.Although I could do the dresser shelves too if I get round to it and now a cushion too!
DeleteNow calm down Sue - you can hardly call a pound at a car boot sale a buying frenzy!
ReplyDeleteI know, but it could be all downhill on a slippery slope from now onwards!! Before you know it I'll be wanting Christmas PJs!!(NOT)
DeleteWell I think it's a little spark of joy, which is good at this time of year and good quality fabric too.
ReplyDeleteMy British grandmother used to say 'a little bit of what you fancy never hurt anyone ' so enjoy your lovely bargain.
You really are the queen of car boot sales!
ReplyDeleteBut it's so cute -- and we must have some cute things!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great cushion, a real bargain, and it looks comfy too!
ReplyDeleteI would only panic if you got the tablecloth, curtains, napkins, crockery and bedding to match 😆😆😆
