A Frugal Christmas?

Had to smile at my Tesco voucher when it arrived recently..................

"Get Ready for Christmas with your voucher"

I don't go to Tesco very often so it's a good thing I don't have to rely on vouchers from them to "get ready for  Christmas"!

What will I splurge my £2 on?

  1. Lol your guess is as good as mine :). But I'm sure some of the locals will be more helpful.
How much does a packet of chips/crisps cost these days?

  3. Lol,I can beat you with that one Sue..mine was £1 50p and thats only because my hubby and my Mam get their petrol from there.I have saved these small amounts from the last year and put them together yesterday for the grand total of £8 50p.And because I buy the cheap Stockwell gravy and Tea bags from there I was able to get a bag full of these without getting my purse out!xx

  6. Wouldn't even buy a cup of coffee in most places! Still £2 is £2 and if it were a coin on the floor I would pick it up.

  9. We don't use Tesco so much, so our's will be the same low amount. We have been saving our loyality money from the Co-op, which we use in December the week before Christmas for fresh veg and dairy.

  12. Ooh … one whole box of mince pies then!

Or you could go down the value lines route and see just how much you can get for £2. I would be tempted to do that, but you know me I love a Challenge.

I've got £8 in vouchers … my Christmas is going to be SPECTACULAR :-)

  15. That is too funny. Don't spend it all at once! Christmas this year will be gifts I bought while in England in August. Most cost more than your voucher, I assure you. Still smiling about how you will spend your riches.

  16. I just went into the kitchen to see how much I had amassed; I have the last four tokens pinned on the cork-board. So - a massive £4, a £1.00, a £1.50 and another £1. PLUS - a £2 Tesco e-token given to me by Sky, because I had no satellite signal for 5 days. Lol, lol. a wonderful, merry Christmas for me with a whole £9.50 !!!!

  17. Typical Tesco-talk I think.
Our Co-op is a better bet - I have amassed ten pounds in about a month and am now going to try to keep it going until Christmas if I can.

  18. I am like the Weaver in that I have accumulated $20 at No Frills (our equivalent of Tesco) and plan to let it keep growing until I do my pre-Christmas dinner shop. With any luck it will be close to the whole amount! Of course that means I can't shop anywhere else if they have bargains.

  19. Enjoy spending your coupon. I would say don't spend it all in one place, but I guess you have to. Giggles.

    God bless.

  20. I save up my Tesco vouchers and then trade them in for magazines subscriptions 3,6 or 12 months on Tesco website. I think 50p worth of voucher is equal to £1.50 worth of subscription.

  21. I got a bit more than you at £2.50 - I've spent mine, dropped a fresh loaf into my basket as a treat.

  22. Well, something completely and totally frivolous, I say!
