I'm not a drinker of alcohol but I do love a chocolate liqueur. Not the ones with a sugar coating inside but the proper ones with a tablespoonful of the real stuff in them.
Yesterday we had some sunshine which was very, very welcome and I had a very unusual takeaway for my Sunday Lunch. I was supposed to be at my sister's house for a roast of venison and all the trimmings but the Tier 4 rules put paid to that so instead I went and collected it! and very delicious it was and a yummy chocolate dessert too. Thank you L and J. She also photocopied my ID stuff so I can go to the Post Office with it when they re-open and get all the forms for buying the bungalow off to the solicitor.
I finally finished doing the pots, pans and washing up after Christmas Day and got everything tidied away into the cupboards although I'll need to get lots out again soon. Once everyone is working I must get quotes from removal companies but in the meantime I ordered a pack of 15 boxes and tape so I can make a start on packing. When son got stuff down from the garage loft a few weeks ago we discovered a half pack of white wrapping paper (surprisingly mouse-free) that must have been left over from the Ipswich to here move in early 2017, a very timely find.
Thank you to everyone for comments over the last few days.
I like liqueurs too. Trouble is, if I treated myself to a box on day three, I'd be having to treat myself to a bottle of Gaviscon by day five! :)
ReplyDeleteMy late husband used to take gaviscon and rennies all the time but it turned out it wasn't indigestion but more likely heart problems that ended up after a few years with him very poorly. So take care
DeleteThanks for the thought! I used to use it a lot - then stopped drinking alcohol and cut out caffeine. Fine ever since, so I'm sure it's just reflux.
DeleteYour liqueurs look interesting and I hope you did not drink/eat them all at once.
ReplyDeleteIt's surprising how quickly the time will go now especially now the days are getting longer.
There is thick fog here which usually means it will be a nice day later on.
Hazel c uk 🌈🌈🏡🏡
It was sunny here first thing but now foggy and cold too
DeleteI have exactly the same chocolate liqueurs and my ration is one per evening. Like you, I only like the ones in little bottle shapes.
ReplyDeletePeople have given me so much to eat this Christmas, they must think I need fattening up :-)
I have so much chocolate and biscuits, Think I may donate some to a food bank!
DeleteI treated Alan to a rather splendid Advent calendar with a proper little liqueur bottle behind every door. When he got his days mixed up and ended up with a few extras I happily helped him get back under control ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love that it has taken you three days to do the washing up from Christmas ... oh what a feast it must have been!! These treats after Christmas are a brilliant idea and perhaps something I might do next year. This is the flattest most dismal part of the year and in a post-Christmas dip it must be lovely to have something to look forward to each day.
I just kept putting off doing all the worst of the washing up but it's done now.
DeleteDad loved chocolate liqueurs. Mum always bought him a good box of them for Christmas and for the past few years, I have taken over.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing the treats after Christmas too. Today is was a set of hand cream, very welcome as my hand have been quite dry in recent weeks. My first day was Christmas Day as it's the start of the twelve days of Christmas though.
xx
Have I got the days wrong- ooops. Never mind too late now
DeleteI have a box of Milk Tray open on the table in the Dining room - irresistable when I pass.
ReplyDeleteI've been given so much chocolate - it might put me off for life!
DeleteYou are unlikely to have too many quiet lazy days ahead of you as you begin packing, but it will certainly provide you with a lot of "entertainment" as you ready to move house. The little liqueur bottles might be helpful for this process and a chocolate break once or twice a day won't hurt either. Good thing you are well supplied. Best of luck with the move!
ReplyDeleteIt will soon be time to start packing and so much chocolate to keep me going!
DeleteHow lovely to have your Sunday lunch made for you, just a shame you had to take it away. Continue to enjoy your 12 days of Christmas treats, by the sound of it, you'll deserve them. All that sorting and packing, makes me tired to think about it! xx
ReplyDeleteI love a chocolate liqueur too, and then another, and then ...
ReplyDeleteChocolate Liqueurs are a wonderful treat. Enjoy! I finally finished my Christmas clean up but I still have decorations to take down. We'll enjoy those a bit longer though.
ReplyDeleteI love those liqueurs! I also love celebrating the full 12 days of Christmas, though there are only presents on the first and last. Well, except for today, day 3, since it is also my birthday. Even just a little thing can help bring back the joy of Christmas, and this year in particular, that joy is more needed by all than for a long long time.
ReplyDeleteI would need a lot of chocolate liqueurs to pack again.
ReplyDeleteI love chocolate liqueurs. They are very difficult to find here in Canada...at least where I live. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Oh YUM! Can I come and share your treats, please! I love proper Liqueur chocolates, and I haven't seen them for years! (Guess where I'm going tomorrow!)
