Our plum tree with delicious eating plums is just a small tree and plums are notorious for being good one year and not the next. As we weren't here last year I have no idea if they were plentiful or not.
But this year this is more or less all we have
Just a cereal bowlful the other day, then these 11 and a few more from the shady side of the tree still to come.
Hope next year is a better plum year.
Thank you one and all for comments yesterday. The fence is now finished and looking good. Pictures will follow when I get plants for the pots
Back Tomorrow

I don't know how you think of something to blog about each day, but I am thankful you do, my first port of call every morning. Lovely plums, Victoria's? I am inundated with greenhouse produce but no fruit trees. Good luck with the patio now courtyard, a lovely relaxing spot. Sarah.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment. I keep being surprised at what I find to write about each day too!But I just like writing so I'll carry on.
DeleteMmm nice.
ReplyDeleteMy plum tree was similar this year. Maybe it isn't a good year for plums. Yours look delicious. Mine were really tiny:)
ReplyDeleteWe've had plenty of rain this month to fatten them up a bit. They were delicious.
DeleteI have found from experience that plums often seem to like having a holiday. We had a plum tree in the garden, which had not fruited for 2 years. In the autumn I stood under it and remarked to OH that if we did not have plums the next year it was coming down. We had a bumper crop the next two years, and then it went on holiday again. We had so many plums I put bags at the gate for free but with a box if anyone wanted to make a donation. We collected £50 for our local hospice. We no longer live in the house that had the plum tree in the garden, my daughter tells me it was removed several years ago by the present owners.
DeleteFewer than mine but so much bigger!
ReplyDeleteMmmm they look yummy!
ReplyDeleteOur neighbours plum trees are laden they are a dark colour. Hubby has built a cradle for the branches over our side as they are do heavy.
ReplyDeleteWe had 7 plums last year and zero this!

They look as though they might be Victoria's - are they?
ReplyDeleteMy neighbour shares her plums with us. Harvey loves to eat them out of hand, but I usually make jam from them as well. This year she gave us enough to make 3 plum crisps with as well.
ReplyDeleteHopefully next year is a good plum year for you.
God bless.
we are having a bad plum year , very few but large good ones , last year it was laden and then we had gales and the wasps got into them . Nature is funny that way
ReplyDeleteAbout the same amount that we got this year, after a bumper crop last year. I found a bag full of last years plums in the freezer when we were relocating it the other week.
